Variations - Are they EVER going to open more categories for this type of listing?

I often come across items which would benefit (and fit) into a variation listing - especially series of NIB toys or collectibles, but nooooooooooooo can't do that.

Who knows, @lookng2015.   Makes no sense to me why variations are restricted for use only in certain categories at all.

But then again, eBay can't seem to get even basic programming of the site right.  God knows what a mess it would be if they added this feature across the board or more often.  😉

They need to completely eliminate across the board.  Let all existing MV listings end.

THEN re-enable it with much tighter restrictions on what can be included and how.

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

True that.

Right now adding cats would probably just mean more cats flooded with the China sellers bat & switch MV listings.

The  category list  in the Help page about variations hasn't been expanded over the years as ebay HAS extended the Variations format to many more categories and subcategories, including some in Toys.  The only way to check is to actually set up  a listing, and see if the variations format option shows up.

Until they fix how the Chinese game the system, I hope they don't extend it.
