Variation out of Stock notification

Is there a way to get a notification when a variation is out of stock?

For example I have a t shirt In  S,M and Large , 3 of each. It would be nice to know if all the small sells out . It seems I would only get a notification If all the items sellout and the listing ends.

On your orders page you can see the information. In the quantity sold column it will say 1 (0 available) when you are out of stock.

There is no alert though. The Out Of Stock filter for active listings does not account for individual variations, unfortunately.
