Variation listings - what the hey?

Suddenly I can't edit any variation listing which uses 'character' as an attribute????

Getting an error message that "character" is not a valid IS. Erm it's NOT an IS it's a variation attribute.

eta: Seems to be Lego listings it's affecting???

Re: Variation listings - what the hey?

Thing is, the paw patrol ones are just fine. It's only the Lego ones (on another ID) that it's affecting, and the main screen for the Lego doesn't even have character as a field, so something is VERY wrong.

Under the following category?

Toys & Hobbies > Building Toys > LEGO Building Toys > LEGO Minifigures

This is what I see:

Item Specifics required Brand and MPN

Item Specifics recommend Character

Item Specifics additional - everything else

If you created this listing before Character became one of the recommended IS and you added it in manually as a variation then that could be where this is stemming from.

But you're on vacation - you shouldn't be here on this forum. Go relax!

Re: Variation listings - what the hey?

So once I recover form the vacation and get to "fixing" this issue, does anyone have suggestions on exactly what "variation specific" I should be using for a minifigure in a deries other than the obvious but not allowed "character"??

I'd also like to know why ebay's system doesn't already HAVE 'character" as a default you can select.

Re: Variation listings - what the hey?

How about Character Name or Persona or Personality?

I don't understand why Product Line is a valid attribute but Character isn't... not even for a brand-new listing in the minifig category.

Re: Variation listings - what the hey?

I came across one category in the Toys where you couldn't use character as a variation specific because there was already a character gender field in the dropdown. Since when does anyone care what GENDER a character is? SMH

Re: Variation listings - what the hey?

I just want someone from ebay to tell me exactly WHAT attribute they think I should use, because it's bad enough I'm losing my sales history by having to delete the listings and start over, and I do NOT want to suddenly find down the track I have to do the same thing again because they decide to change something.
