Most likely what happened was that someone linked/pinned the item on social media somewhere, which would make it get a flurry of views as people checked it out from the post. Then, as the post got pushed off the first page of that person's social media, people stopped clicking on the link.

A curious 'thing' I've seen is new auction postings.
First run, I get tons of views & watchers.
Ends w/o a bid.
Then, relist or sell similar... NO watchers.
Suddenly, it's not an interesting item?

I’ve noticed that newly listed items often sell within hours, while the very same quality items have been in my store forever. So obviously they are getting front page exposure.
Then again I never think too much about the store inventory. It’s like having a brick and mortar store.. the shelves need to look full! And whenever I look twice at an item that’s been there forever with an eye to trashing it, somebody buys it!
There is no bad inventory. It’s all a matter of who looks when. Given a chance it all will sell eventually.
Sending America's collectibles where they belong, one auction at a time!

"Something is not right!!"
Pretty sure its not just something - If you wanted a short list to contend with, maybe you should have asked,
What IS going right?
