I sold an item on ebay, shipped it with tracking, item shows delivered. Buyer claims that its not as described and that he shipped it back to me. Both are a lie, item was brand new, and he never shiped the item back to me. He opened a case on ebay, he lost the case and the case was closed in our favor.
Now he went and opened a case through paypal claiming the same bogus lie. I provided paypal with the tracking number that it was delivered, and also told them that the buyer never shipped anything back to us. I also provided the case Id number on ebay showing that the case was closed in our favor.
Now its been reviewed on paypal, we hope for a positive outcome to this, but it just shows you the length that these scammers are willing to go, and the loopholes that ebay and paypal have both created in their company that scammers can easily manipulate and take advanatage, what a pathetic state of mind, pure waste of time and incompetence, where's the communication between ebay and paypal? why when a case is closed on ebay the buyer can still open cases on paypal for the same exact transaction? unbelievable...

I closed my first sale today and realized within a matter of hours that the winning bid was made by someone who had just set up a fake account on the day of the bid.
Now I have to wait six days before canceling the sale in order to keep from being charged a seller's fee.
This may be my first and final ebay transaction.
As you said, the security set up to prevent scamming appears to be ridiculously weak.

Any buyer has the option of starting a case on their credit card account, so the option is not only on paypal.........

How do you know the account was fake? I have many zero feedback bidders and guest bidders that I've never had a problem with. As a matter of fact at one time I set up my acct - bought somethig that same day with of course 0 feedback and here I am today with 3 accts over 4000 transactions and few problems encountered.
