Using Emojis to stand out in listing titles?

Hey all,

Has ebay's policy on emoji use changed recently?  I keep seeing several sellers using different types of emojis in their listing titles.  Emojis definitely catch my attention when I'm scrolling through ebay's search results.  I've never used them on my own listings because I always thought it was against ebay policy.

Does anyone know if it's still against policy or is it acceptable now?

So true @richard1rst .

Us older folk know what melmac is, but apparently the younger do not.

Actually, Melmac is where Alf the Alien (old TV show) is from.

to the people claiming emojis don’t make your listings stand out or sell better please search “lularoe” sort by highest and see how many of the top 200 have emojis.  I reported this to  eBay since it is against their search manipulation policy but was told they will do nothing about it but it is against policy for me to do it.  Standard eBay, but it does seem to help in categories and the search not only doesn’t dislike them but seems to put them high in rank.  As I told ebay, want people to not use emojis?  Make them instantly rank less than any listing without one. Problem solved.  They don’t do the easiest solutions

Lularoe is a bit of a cult with its own conventions.

Using Emojis to stand out in listing titles?

I think it's lame.

It wouldn't stop me from buying from the seller.

I just think it's really lame.

I actually don't have any objection to manbuns, but, like baseball caps worn indoors (or backwards), I do take them as a sign the lad is balding.

EBay's buyer demographic skews older than the general population, closer to 35-65 than the desired 18-35 range.

And btw, Millennials now outnumber Boomers.

And we Boomers die more often than the kids do.

There is a place for advertising to your core, but even Buick is now promoting to younger drivers, although Lincoln is still a holdout. FIL bought his last Lincoln when he was 89. (and rolled it driving himself and MIL to their new assisted living residence.)

The real problem with emojis is that they are often meaningless or liable to be misinterpreted. You think you are being invited over for a nice dinner of eggplant parmesan and find out what's on the menu is you.

Kids these days.

I like man-buns...everytime I see Jonathan Davis from Korn with one on, it gives my eyes a love-feast..

I did notice some categories are using those stupid emojis more than ever..if it's true it's search manipulation, then more reason not to buy from that seller...

I even saw one of those L@@K today..lol..
