Used to be my 2 or 3, now my 13

My 13 year old made the offer without talking to his mother or myself. He does not have the money for this item. I apologize for that. He can only afford $49.50 thats his monthly allowance in advance. Sorry.

-------------

Really? my 13 year old allowance is $29.99 plus tax.

@mypostingid15   Sounds like you buy it anyway and the 13 year old works it off around the house putting in twice the amount of time his reg allowance covers ... yard work, folding wash, drying dishes, cutting the grass, taking out the trash ... etc.  As least they didn't say their pet Iguana got loose and ran across the keyboard and placed the order ...

Mom and Dad pay. Kid works it off at about 50 cents an hour.

Kid will remember the lesson and the cost.

My oldest son (12-13 yrs old at the time) used my Paypal account and my ebay account to buy "Must have" video game. This was years ago. His punishment was to work the $50.00 off at $1.00 an hour and I kept the game.

After all, I paid for it.

Riiighhht... because all kids get their allowances as an amount ending in something-nine dollars and fifty cents... Smiley Very Happy

I'll give 'em half credit for creativity in their revised offer...

Geez, I don't have a 13 YO, but their allowance would be zero.  Kiddles don't get an allowance for helping around the house, that's called contributing to the household and is done because they are part of the household.

My dogs on the other hand.. Now THEY get an allowance.

And starting May 7th you will eat the Pay-Pal fees on that 13 year olds lack of restraint and the Parent's bad example they set for NOT PAYING for the item that THEY ARE ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR!

This is true.  It just got a whole lot more expensive to be a seller who accepts Paypal.

Isn't that considered 'corporal punishment' in the 21st century?

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

Respect, like money, is only of 'worth' when it is earned - with all due respect, it can not be ordained, legislated or coerced. Anonymous
