Updates are happening to some item specifics and category structures

We announced in our most recent Seller Update that we’ve revised some categories and item specifics to help make your listings easier to find on eBay and by external search engines. 

Starting today, you’ll see updates to the following categories:

Business & Industrial (Sinks)

Collectibles & Toys 

Electronics (Cameras)

Health & Beauty (Covid tests)

Home & Garden

Parts & Accessories (Wheels & Tires)

Sporting Goods (Golf & Cycling)

Watches

During this transition, your listing experience could be temporarily impacted, as well as the visibility of your listings.  You may notice some item specifics changing names, listings moved to different categories, or some listings temporarily not appearing in searches. 

Any affected listings should return to normal within a week, though some effects to listings’ visibility in searches may continue for up to three weeks. 

Once these changes are complete, we recommend checking your listings in the above categories to see if any were affected.  Learn more about category changes → please scroll down the page to see the links for the specific category changes.

We understand these updates will take extra time and may cause some frustration, but our goal is to help you increase your listings’ visibility and sales. 

Keep an eye on this page over the coming days—we’ll be sharing up-to-date information on affected categories and listings, and answering any questions you have.

oh trust me they dont even care about new sellers. ive been DOUBLE charged for ebay standard shipping labels OVER 40 TIMES JUST TODAY ALONE!!!!!!!!! for orders from over 2 weeks ago before they deceided to start this STUPID update

Please add my name to the list. Sales down 95% views down 99%. Many items have zero views where normally I get 150-300 in 10 days on auctions. I did some 99 cent auctions to try and boost numbers and had disastrous results. I drive alot of views per day to ebay from social media and the views ARE NOT SHOWING UP in my view counts. It's like my items are not visible at all.

They have to FIX all these glitches - this is a total mess.  Buyers email to say they cannot checkout - you add them to the exception list - still cannot.  What is going on?  Seriously - my frustration is HIGH!

I do understand the goal is to help me sell more so you can earn more, but why not do all the updates and testing in a testing environment and then move to production, why do you do your testing in production? We are not guinea pigs.

You're pretty generous in assuming they do any testing, period. They roll this stuff out and wait for the complaints to roll in. They then spend a lot of time claiming that "it's working the way it's intended to work."

When I read the above from eBay, my first response was a sigh.  The second was derisive laughter.   Talk is cheap, whiskey costs money and  eBay are cheapskates.  I keep wondering what sort of disaster it's going to take for them to finally listen to the people who know what they're doing. Far too late most likely.

It is more frequent with all the changes, tweeks, changes, etc.

Constant chaos.

Not sure if its just coincidence but my sales are down roughly 60% the past couple weeks after steady sales for months. My items are not seasonal or luxury items either. I've also had trouble getting on the site occasionally and kept getting this message "upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: overflow". That started about a week ago.
