What is this new bull**bleep** eBay is doing now when it comes to reporting unpaid items?
I've had 2 buyers in the past week disappear after committing to a purchase. When I attempt to report the unpaid items, I just get redirected to an order cancellation page? What tf is this?
I don't want to just cancel the order...I want to report these PoS buyers. Is that not a thing anymore??

It's still a Thing. Now you cancel the transaction on day 5 for non payment. Buyer still gets a Strike and you have one less day to wait to close a non payment transaction.

I also am running into this problem and one is very mad as he was waiting to purchase other items waiting to end!
While the deadbeats need to get booted. But this brainchild they came up with is garbage. It will only serve to anger both sellers and buyers. I think I will have to see about coming up with workaround.

This new **bleep** is exactly what many sellers on this board have been begging eBay to do for years.
Many, many sellers complained that the unpaid item process took too long and tied up their items while they waited the additional four days before they could close the dispute.
I guess eBay cannot please everyone.

No "workaround" required!
Go to your Selling Preferences, all the old choices are there, you can turn the auto on/off, set the number of days, exempt specific buyers etc.
Buyers are still given strikes when they don't pay
Buyers can still be blocked with two strikes
Sellers no longer have to go through a two stage process
All the features of the old but faster and easier

Cases for unpaid items have been handled by eBay since May

I don't like the fact the language has changed as if not to insult the buyer. Shouldn't the language from the seller's perspective be different? You click on unpaid item and you only see cancel the order not open up a case. At that point I'm real tempted to cancel the order and say the buyer said to or say i had a problem with their address, like they never addressed my question , do you intend to pay for this item? What does it say from the buyer's perspective when they want to open up a case? Option 1) FRY him Option 2) Smoke him Option 3) open up a scam Option 4) make him wait like he was a victim of Chinese water torture. I mean really, a seller is lead to believe they did something wrong and they're cancelling the order. We actually want to report the buyer for non payment no cancel a case. There needs to be different wording. None of it makes any sense now.

When you cancel an unpaid item on day 5 or later you can choose the reason that payment hasn’t been received. …not the exact wording but it is similar. Using that reason will give the buyer a strike. It makes sense to me.

New policy
You must be really generous seller
FYI buyers are given pay by date or lose item note directly under item purchased.
I like that I know how long I have prior to strike .
It is much better IMO
buyers need to be responsible to their commitments sellers are free to cancel unpaid items faster so they can be relisted

But there are only 3 options to cancel the order, none of which are for non payment

Starting on Day 5 after the transaction, there IS an option to cancel for nonpayment.
Here is the Help page about what to do if a buyer doesn't pay:
