Undeliverable as addressed. Buyer has opened up an item not received case

Hello Everyone,

Sent the customer his package via USPS first class and is now being returned to me as undeliverable as addressed. The buyer has opened up an item not recieved case.

What should I do in this case ? Since I Did send to the approved ebay / paypal address.

When I confirmed from the buyer about the address there is a minor difference. What should I do in this case ?

It is the buyer's responsibility to make sure they have the correct address in the system. There are a couple of different routes you can take here, but whatever you do, do not let the time limit run out on that INR case or you will get a defect.

Option A:

Contact the buyer, ask them to close the case. Tell them you will re-ship upon receipt of the package if they re-pay for shipping. You can send them an invoice via paypal for the second shipping charge.

Option B:

Upload the tracking # to the INR case, then call eBay and have them close it in your favor while on the phone.

After that (if it were me), I would go to PayPal and refund them item price minus shipping and minus non-refundable eBay & PayPal fees.

Then you can decide if you want to re-list after the package comes back and let them know they can re-purchase, or if you want to add the buyer to your blocked list.

When it happened to me.........I wrote the buyer that I had gotten the package back , postage due $$........ (it was media mail), the address was xxxx which was what was in the delivery instructions and asked what they wanted to do.........

They apologized, paid the postage due and remailing and I mailed back.......... (did a pp invoice)

Point being, you need to know the buyer what the buyer wants to do.......the item or a refund........
