Ugh, why still a 20 draft limit?

The old refrain around here regarding the completely ridiculous 20 item limit on drafts was "if you need more, use Turbo Lister."

Well now that Turbo Lister is dead and buried, and supposedly all its functionality is duplicated in the Seller Hub, the 20 item draft limit still exists.

Of course I conveniently forgot about this after dutifully switching to the seller hub until today when I ended up losing 20+ drafts and several hours of work because I didn't realize they were falling off the bottom of the list.

You'd think eBay wouldn't want to do thing sthat stand in the way of sellers creating more listings and driving more commissions into their coffers.

And now after a few minutes, all the drafts that had fallen off are automagically back. Now I'm REALLY confused.

You are not confused, you are on eBay.

Someone should be on shortly that may know more. I seldom use drafts - but have been doing them this week because I'm going on vacation so don't want to put them up - only to shut them down for 10 days.

I thought that we could do 75/90 drafts.

Re: Ugh, why still a 20 draft limit?

There was a recent thread where a blue said that when using the Seller Hub, there is no limit on the number of drafts allowed. But there is a 45 day window to list the draft and then it drops off. I’ll see if i can find it and post it here.

Ok i found the policy page with the information. Here is the link:

https://www.ebay.com/help/listings/creating-managing-listings/creating-managing-listings?id=4105

“...You can also save a draft of your listing and go back to finish it later. There are no limits to how many drafts you can have in Seller Hub, although they expire after 45 days.”

Re: Ugh, why still a 20 draft limit?

Ugh...I just drafted a bunch to list.   Not knowing there was a limit and deleting the photos off of my phone.

If they're going to list the number of drafts they could at least have a warning come up that you've reached the limit and older ones will be dropped if any more are added.

Absolutely no reason for there to be a limit on drafts.

So.  Annoyed.

https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/drafts

They are just out of sight but all still there if you click on the link above, which shows all drafts via seller dashboard.

Re: Ugh, why still a 20 draft limit?

Not only is there a 20-draft limit, there's a recent bug in the listing process for a couple of months that spawns duplicate drafts and other drafts, which pushes the total over the limit and causes your earlier drafts (still less than 30 days old) to be deleted.

Not sure, but I think Ebay is telling small sellers to go somewhere else.

Re: Ugh, why still a 20 draft limit?

No it isn’t. Call EBay and ask to be transferred to Tools and Apps.

I just got mine working again after a 6 year gap. Lovely CS spent half an hour on the phone with me, walking me through updating it.

Hi everyone,

Thanks.
