The post office is garbage they don't scan ebay envelopes any more and about 20% of my packages don't get delivered and the ones that do are taking 3-5 weeks for delivery. DOES EBAY GIVE A CRAP ABOUT US AT ALL> MAYBE they can reach out to the incompetent **bleep**s at the usps and apply some pressure

Ebay envelopes have never been hand scanned, they are scanned by the sorting machine.

Although with your card prices it doesn't seem like you are interested in making money anyway, you are shipping some of those cards out at a direct loss.  Most of the rest of them are listed at a price that cannot result in you making more than a few dollars an hour for your work.

I have made several videos on this. Go time your work. How many cards can you list, file away, pull and ship in an hour. You are clearing around 40 cents after supplies on those 1.80 cards (assuming of course that they are not promoted, if they are promoted it is worse). Can you list 20 cards, file away 20 cards, pull 20 cards and then pack 20 cards all in the same hour? If you can then congrats you can make $8 an hour, assuming all the cards are free.

Every card seller I tell this to claims that all their average customer orders 10 cards, but their feedback never agrees with that.

Those cards are pulling your store down, not lifting it up. $2.99 plus shipping is the cheapest price point you can effectively sell at and still make money. That is why my card store is full of that price point.

I send out so many standard envelopes and they all get delivered with a forever stamp with the USPS.

And it's usually 4-5 days cross country for a standard envelope to get mailed to a buyer with the USPS.

I have been lucky for years without any problems.

So I don't think it is a USA post office problem but maybe it is your city or state post office problem where you live.

There are changes in the hubs of Tennessee where some are closing and some are combining.

When you say 'the post office is garbage' it's like saying your city or state post office is garbage.

No kidding but the usps is not scanning the ebay envelopes in the state I live in. that's the problem. you have not been selling very long obviously check my numbers I have been doing it since 2007. I can take 200 photos and crop and list in 2 hours. Shipping is 30 cards an hour. My cost of shipping and fees and supplies are covered by what I charge for shipping. I sell from 100-200 cards a week.

I agree its all of Tennessee for sure but other states mark the ebay envelopes as needing more postage when the item is under 1 oz in weight

I am not new at this. This isn't my first or only account. I have been selling since the 1990s. My youtube video on standard envelope is so highly ranked that the ebay shipping supply team specifically sent me samples of their ebay branded card supplies before they were released because they wanted my opinion on them.

I can't evaluate the numbers you just gave because you don't have a consistent shipping cost on cards. Some are free, some are .79, some are .85, some are .89.  I know for a fact that you directly lose money on the .79 shipping, the ship cost is ,69 and the ebay fee on the ship cost is 9 cents. That only leaves a penny to buy an envelope, a label and a top loader or whatever you use.

By the way, you can use business policies to have a consistent shipping price on cards that you can change on everything all at once.

I can however run the math on the general numbers you gave me. 13 hours to list, pull and ship 300 cards. I extrapolated it out to make the math easier to do.  Allowing the insanely low 6 cents per order for supplies that means you can make 52 cents per card which comes out to $12 an hour, and that is only if 100 percent of the cards you list sell.

The baseball card shop I used to run the ebay for completely stopped selling cards under $3 online once we timed the employees and ran the numbers. Our fastest guy couldn't make his own $10 an hour salary back.

Hotwire, when I had standard envelope problems in the past it always came down to a single person at my local post office being the problem. My problems vanished when I started dropping them in a box serviced by a different post office, and later I figured out my problems also vanished if I just dropped them in any high volume box from the problem post office that would just get dumped into the works without anyone scrutinizing them. Basically I only had problems when they were handed directly to a human.

No, eBay does not care about the shipping service a seller selects. EBay has zero pull to get your envelopes scanned and delivered.

Shipping services can be excellent and also sub-standard,  depending upon what the seller offers.
