Ive recently received negative feedback from a buyer that claims that I sent the package back to myself. the packaged was delivered to a PO Box in my city but the buyer is located in a different state. Ive already filed a claim to USPS to find out what happened in this situation. The buyer is assuming I sent it back to myself and left me a bad rating. Is this something that Ebay can resolve after USPS reviews the situation? Address listed for Texas
Item delivered in Anaheim

Did the delivered to the PO show right after you dropped it off? In other words, usually what happens is the clerk at your PO scans a package as "delivered" instead of "accepted"...... If it happened midway/end of delivery there would be another explanation..........

What exactly was the tracking history? I see the receipt of the package on 11/28, when was it shipped? @dhbookds is correct that sometimes packages are accidentally scanned as delivered when they are accepted or still en route - wrong setting on the scanner, for instance.
Your buyer's feedback doesn't make much sense after the first phrase, but if the package can be shown to be still en route and the situation resolved, I would think that there is a chance the FB could be removed. But cross that bridge when you come to it.

That actual makes sense because that is the usual time that I dropped off packages to my local post office. I really hope this is the situation and would help me out. Thank you

My thoughts also. The hand-scan error doesn't affect the actual travel of the package in any way, although since this happened last Tuesday, I would have expected later scans to have occurred by now.
@wartortlescollection : If you go to USPS.com and look up your tracking number there (not on eBay), do you see any further scans of your package?

I've had similar. Where some drivers scan packages in the van before they actually deliver. In those cases it's inevitable that sometimes the driver runs out of time or a package rolls under the drivers seat.
I was lucky that the buyer emailed me and I explained this. Their package was really delivered a couple of days later.
It's sad when buyers immediately assume they are being scammed when most times they are not.

yes.......I should have put that in.........to check the tracking to see if later tracking is showing up...........

@wartortlescollection You can also put tracking notification on your package when you look up the tracking number on the USPS site - what I do is for the "name" in the notification text/email area is put the package item or recipient name in there to keep track of what I'm keeping track of lol. You'll get notified every time the package is scanned in movement. I know it shouldn't make any difference, but I've had packages 'stuck' in the system shake loose when I've activated that. It's also something you can tell your buyer you're doing - it helps with the 'due diligence' aspect.
Yeah, I'm sorry this buyer jumped to conclusions - it doesn't make sense to ship a package to yourself, but many buyers don't know the ins and outs of the postal system and there's no reason why they should. You're not the first person by any means this has happened to, either.

Right, it doesn't technically do anything toward getting a package "un-stuck" in any way, because all you're doing is setting a flag on the record in the USPS database that directs the tracking system to send you an update when a new scan occurs.
On the other hand, it will give you near-instant notification of an event that was going to happen anyway, and that can save you a ton of time by no longer having to check it manually on-line, plus you can keep those notifications indefinitely as tracking records for that shipment. The USPS dumps their tracking data after 4 months (unless you want to pay them extra to keep your tracking record on file longer), but you will have your own records from there on. I recommend signing up for email notifications of tracking for any high-value or high-risk shipment so that you have a permanent record of its delivery later on.

As others noted and I agree with, this is nothing more than a scan error, your buyer will receive their item. I just had the same thing happen very recently.
The problem is they use the same scanners for both the initial scan and delivery scans.
USPS system is smart enough to know a scan error when it sees one though, everything still gets delivered.
Here's what you need to know. The tracking info will not update again once its shown as delivered. But USPS internal tracking will still show those updates.
Some buyers will take advantage of these scan errors to try and get a refund, despite knowing they received their item. If that happens, you can get a printout from USPS that shows delivery confirmation.

I'd respond to the feedback with "USPS misscan - Instead of "acceptance" scan, postal clerk hit the "delivery" scan button. Package is on way and will be delivered to buyer."

Contact your local Post Office and explain- they can look in their internal system an track the package-even with the wrong scan and see where it is and print that information our for you. You can then upload that info(which should have the Postal Service letterhead and address on it) and post it for your customer and Ebay to see.I have had issues like that and the Post Office. One package went to Australia -the customer it turned out did not fill out her full address when she paid. I had no idea when I shipped it as it was just the street name and her name and town.
Well since I paid Priority mail- US postal Service online was able to contact Australia Postal Service and update the Packages address and put her house number on it.
All went smooth- I was amazed.
