I brought 6 first class packages to my local post office yesterday for scanning. The man who scanned them must've hit a wrong button and he needed to continue the scans on a 2nd receipt. When I got home I realized only 5 of the packages were scanned and the one he missed didn't update in the tracking at all. The tracking is as if it was never given in but it was.
Is it possible that he someone canceled out the label by what he did? Is it possible the package is still in transit without being scanned? I don't understand it considering he took all the packages and the others are showing tracking updates.

It will more than likely remain in the system. Eventaully it will get scans along the way including a delivery scan. Otherwise it will be returned to you today with a reason why?
Good Luck Selling!

It will eventually, sooner rather than later, pass under another scanner; no worries. I would bet it will resurface by tomorrow at the latest. The first in-network scan is always treated as an Acceptance scan, even if it doesn't have its first sighting before reaching a sort facility. (If that happens in this case, the entry will read something like "Accepted at Sort Facility" followed by your origin town and state (i.e. not the location of the sort facility itself).

It has been well over a day and a half at this point and I really doubt there is going to be a scan. I wish I could know what happened to it or if he somehow voided the label by doing what he did. I'll post again if there's a scan but I think it's very unlikely now.

Even if he voiced the label, the void wouldn’t go through when the package is scanned. The package os probably en route to the destination. Mine don’t always show a scan until they reach the buyers sort facility.

I am pretty sure that a USPS employee can't void a shipping label that you created.
Why do you think it unlikely that it will be scanned?

Tracking follows the package; it doesn't guide it, and there's nothing he could have messed up during an Acceptance scan that could have affected its travel. It'll get there when it gets there, regardless of how many or how few scans occur along the way.

I think it will be alright just give it some time.

There is no way to void a label once its scanned. My mail lady tried doing it once for me because a customer canceled right after the package was picked up. I got stuck with a $25 shipping charge.
I had a package picked up once by a substitute mail person. He picked up 2 packages. One showed up the next night but the other didn't show up for 3 days when it reached the destination post office. The next scan showed delivered.
What I did do was contact the buyer and let them know the package was shipped on the right day and that it was on it's way. I, also, went to the USPS sight and put in that I wanted updates for that tracking number. You may even see that the tracking is showing there. It does not always show in real time on here and the updates are sometimes behind. Final thing check with the Post Master at your post office. He can look into it as well.

skip, I know this can be stressful. Been there (more than once).
Try not to check updates more than ONCE a day.
It will almost certainly reach a point where a scanner blips on it and it now shows tracking. I know the others have been scanned 4-5 times now but there are always a few packages that manage to evade the scans. Not trying to be too-o-o funny as I know you're concerned.
See advice above about looking on USPS site, it is more up-to-date. Also while you're there check the little boxes to receive either texts and/or emails as it goes on it's journey.
Also, while on USPS sign up for, grrr forgot what it's called... they send you PHOTOS of packages coming to YOUR mailbox, usually same day or tomorrow. It took about a month for mine to start working but it's way cool, shows photos of even flats and First Class.

Most of my shipments go untracked*.
I think I have had one Not Received dispute in the past three years. That's a few thousand shipments.
*Because Canada Post fees for tracked packages are amazing! A minimum of $14.04 to the USA for items under 100 grams.

That would be Informed Delivery by USPS.

I did signup for USPS updates concerning this package when I noticed this issue and there still has been nothing.
