USPS Package Shows Tracking 1 Month later - Already Refunded Buyers :(

I refunded 2 buyers after there was no tracking (Priority) for 2 weeks after the "Picked up" scan.

I created insurance claims for the included $100 (each pkg was close to $200).

Miraculously, after I put in the insurance claims, both packages started moving and now are being delivered to both buyers 🙄

I contacted both, thru eBay messages and text. One still wants her item and said for me to invoice her. The other does not want it, so I told him to refuse it. Both honest enough to contact me  back thru text.

Let's see how this plays out. What do u guys think?

Glad to hear things are working out. But it does make you work more when things don't go as perfect.

Here's an off the wall question....I lived in Chicago and the winters pushed me to now San Francisco.

The "scan guns" that a lot of delivery people use to scan items as delivered at one's door....do we know if they are reliable when there's a wind chill of 30 below?...especially in Chicago.

Some people in electric cars are having difficulty charging cars in this weather.

Just an interesting thought.

A corollary to Murphy's Law.

These are the best outcomes you could expect.

Fingers crossed all goes as planned.

I think you lucked out with good buyers, assuming they both follow through on payment and pkg refusal.

don't know @12345jamesstamps  but that's a good question. going to ask the next time i see the postal carrier.

Yesterday, I tracked down a USPS truck in my neighborhood to give them an outgoing eBay pkg so I wouldn't have to deal with the post office drama.

She scanned it as 'picked up' w/o a problem, but she was inside her truck.

Still, she said she had on 3 prs of gloves and her hands/fingers were numb 😣

I'd be tipping my mail carrier with these in weather that cold:

@stuff4divas  We're in the suburbs of Chicago also. We have had the same experience with USPS and Fedex on ebay orders and our regular b&m orders. Scans showed no movement for over 8 days. I called and the automated system confirmed it was moving through the system. It wasn't. The next day, tracking still showed it as in the hub here in IL. I opened a case and it miraculously appeared on the tracking on their website the next day. I think once an actual case is filed, they get after it in earnest. I did wonder how it would have ended if we had not pursued it.

Our carriers are super nice. We invite them in for treats and to get warm for a few minutes.

Recommend electric gloves to your postal carrier. I have both electric gloves and socks and have been in -30 degree weather and never had cold hands or feet. They come in a variety of price ranges and with different options but for me personally WELL worth the money.

The fact you sent these by Priority Mail 2 weeks ago means your ebay buyers should have gotten there items by now.

Know that this is NOT your fault.

I'm actually waiting for some items myself and I should have had them by now.

Something is going on with USPS due to the recent upgrades to there sorting / distribution facilities.

Get a hold of your buyers and let them know of the situation.

See if you can work with them.

Again this is NOT your fault.

Thank you for the update! It's so rare to hear that type of positive result and from 2 different buyers, even more rare!

Yes, there IS hope!
