I’m not sure any business entity would account for someone being away from their business for 30 days. 30 days is ample time in most situations.

It will be available after USPS introduces it; midnight on July 9.

So with that being said how are we as sellers supposed to go in and change our first class listings as stated by Ebay that we had 30 days to do so.

I think the confusion is the wording “over the next 30 days”. It implies from now. I believe it means 30 days after the 9th.

If it is 30 days after July 9, I am wondering what happens to the listings for those of us on vacation (Time Away setting) from about July 4 to August 11?

Are you talking about being on vacation for 30 days?

Yes. On vacation for over 30 days. Traveling and out in the woods. I will be putting my listings on the Time Away setting.
It isn’t unusual for folks to take longer vacations in the summer, and I wonder if eBay took that into consideration with their “30 days to change” requirement.

@spankymacf didn't u get a message from ebay earlier today explaining and providing links?
and didn't u see the eBay Announcement board also explaining and providing links?
or go onto the USPS website where they explain it?

You are quite correct.
However, since my (fully licensed and taxed) sole proprietor business is not my main source of income, I can afford to take a longer vacation.
I just want to know what will happen to my listings when the first class package shipping method is not updated after those 30 days. I hope that someone from eBay will reply to one of these threads with an answer.

It doesn't start until July 9th at which time you can change the methods.

The question I have is what happens to all of our existing listings that have 1st class shipping? Ebay is automatically changing over parcel select shipping to USPS ground advantage but refuses to do so for 1st class packages. I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with a clueless member of "the management team" who basically told me it is my problem. I had to point out the email that was sent and the link it sent us to and show that they were basically dumping the problem in our laps. Of my 13000+ listings over 11000 ship via 1st class. Do they really think I'm going to start manually changing them all on my own? All I want them to do is to automatically switch them over to what they call "Standard shipping" in the drop down menu, which would then enable me to choose the appropriate shipping method on my end when I do my bulk labels through eBay each morning. All I want is to know that the eBay customer will still be able to purchase my item for the price shown with the shipping price quoted in my listing. I'm willing to do the rest. I am not willing to go in and manually change the shipping method for over 11000 listings myself.

I don't think it will show up until July 9 when it is supposed to be released.

That is correct. WHAT HAPPENS TO ALL OF THE LISTINGS THAT RELIST AUTOMATICALLY EACH MONTH? Are they accessible to customers. All I want is an answer to that question.

I agree. I have over 11,000 items that will need to be changed. Do they understand the man-hours for a very small business? Why can they not do the change for first-class like they are doing for Parcel?
