Two switcharoos in one week. I love me some scammers.

No question just a rant. I know I will have to eat this one as well. I just received a return for an item not fitting the buyers vehicle. I found it odd because this part is a hood emblem which is a standard part on all BMW models. So I tell the buyer to open a return which he did and sent the part back. I got to pay for the return shipping for this as well per scammer policy. Well I get the emblem back and guess what. he sent back a chinease knockoff. I am guessing this guy originally bought the knockoff, it did not fit so he bought mine and switched them out. This has happened twice this week, the other was a Mini Cooper emblem., two different thieves.

So per Ebays policy I get to eat right around $85.00, fantastic!  I do have a little wall of shame going for all of the fake and used paret people send back. It is getting ridicules.

Per ebay...it's the cost of doing business.
By that standard, they wouldn't mind being paid in counterfeit money from paypal.

Did you report the scammer? Misuse of returns, misuse of MBG just to name a couple violations. Does he mention anything about feedback? That's another one.

You can set your buyer preferences to block buyers with 4 or more violations, so that is why it is important to report all scammers! It helps the entire community to bring eBay's attention to the creeps.

@thebmwminipartstore_2

I was on the phone for a return a while back....I was the buyer in this scenario.  Seller sold me counterfeit goods, I opened claim, he dragged out and threatened me saying "we will see who wins this" and let the claim sit until that last possible hour and then sent me a shipping label that had no tracking on it.  I of course knew better, and paid the extra for tracking so seller couldn't claim "never delivered."  Package was delivered successfully and seller reported me to eBay for sending back empty box...even though I took a video of me at post office boxing it up and giving it to USPS and paying...and sent seller the video he claimed "fake video."  yea ok...

anyways, I called eBay and I kid you not the lady on the phone says, "don't tell anyone this but you could ship back a rock and as long as you have tracking and it shows delivered the seller has to refund you."

I immediately jumped all over that, and asked her say it again...she confirmed it does not matter what the buyer sends back to the seller in a return as long as tracking shows delivered they 100% of the time have to refund.

In case you're wondering this is why I rarely ship physical goods via eBay.  I do all physical goods through craigslist where they give me cash and can't play the system.

eBay does not care about the seller.  The proof is in the policies.

Tamper proof stickers.

My SIL attaches them to all high dollar amount,   takes a picture and adds them to listing and states that all returns must have tamper proof sticker attaches.

He also tells those who wish to return items  that all returns are opened at post office and appropriate police and post office reports filed.

I reported him and did all of the standard blocks. I get a couple of these or fake snads a week. I sent him a baited message to see if I could get some info out of him. I sent some messages to some of his other recent sellers to see if he pulled the same scam.

Lol you should see some of the things I have received back. My favorite is when I get back their old used parts back and have to refund. This is why aIl try to keep my listing under $200.00.

Unfortunately, ebay could care less about any "stickers". They control the money, and can issue a refund even if the seller gets back the proverbial rock or empty box.  It was bad enough with just that, but now the seller has to PAY for the rock or empty box as well.

Was a seller here since 1998.  No more heavy items, no more valuable items, and no more items that can be sold sucessfully for more someplace else.  To me this is sad.

Very true. I wish they sent a box of rocks, at least I can use those to fill a hole in my driveway.
