Turning off Auto Relisting

Hi All,

I can't find how to turn off auto relisting.

eBay says it is in drop down on box next to item but it isn't there.

Using Chrome and Quick Listing method of listing items.

I don't see it at bottom of page when I'm listing an item either.

I assume the reason i have so many duplicates in the UNSOLD relisted area is because eBay automatically relists items 8 times?

BTW is there a way to trun on automatic spell correction when typing on eBay. Sure would hlep!

Thanks,

Al

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

I guess you can just end or cancel the listing and that should stop it from auto relisting.

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

This option to turn it off is no longer listed in the drop down menu with the **bleep** non-classic page that they are making us use now. This just sucks.

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

This steps for this solution are no longer available, (If your item is already listed, look to the right, where you see "Sell Similar" in blue. Under that you see "More Actions".) or it's just not available to people without stores.  What I have found is... That automatic relisting is the default, and there is NO place to globally address all or a batch of items for this option. Instead you must do it one at a time.

1, Locate the item on which to stop automatic relisting.

2, Edit the item.

3, Go to the bottom and click Update Listing

4, Once the item relists you are shown the confirmation screen. Along the bottom are options. One is Assign Automation Rules. Click on it.

5, From the --Select-- Drop Down list choose No Rules. Then click Save and you're done.

Note there are two other options to choose on the --Select-- drop down list.

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

agree! its **bleep** that they would relist something that I only have one of. Causing us to have to remove the listing or worse... cancel a sale making me look bad!

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

...But you must view in "Classic View" otherwise these instructions do not work. In Classic View the instructions work:

.... If your item is already listed, look to the right, where you see "Sell Similar" in blue. Under that you see "More Actions". Click on that little black  drop down arrow. You'll see a list of stuff you can do. The last one is "Remove from Automatic Relist". Click on that. It will take a second and the eBay page will reload. If you click on that little black drop down arrow again, you will see that the option is gone. You have successfully removed your item from automatic relist. I do it all the time. Hope this helps!

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

This is not true anymore. Why does Ebay make it so hard to disable auto-relisting?

Sure, if there are 0 bigs we can just end the listing, but even then the options they make you choose from are like "Item no longer available" or "item lost or damaged" so they force us to lie. Sometimes items just wont' sell and we want to put it out of its misery.

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

In response to famacool:

What is meant by "2. Edit the Item". I can choose "Revise your Item", but this has no "Update Listing" option at the bottom. How is "Edit the Item" selected?

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

I can access that page, but trying to remove automated relisting for an auction just gives me the error 'Sorry, but you are currently not subscribed to eBay Selling Manager Pro.'

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

I finally found out how. It's same page as listed in help article, but different steps for non-pro seller: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/creating-managing-listings/relisting-items?id=4147

Go to the seller hub active listing: https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active

(Note this is not same as the active listing in account summary page: https://www.ebay.com/mys/active)

Click on "Edit" of your listing in the Actions column from the table. Now you get the full listing page and finally you can deselect that "Automatically relist this item up to 8 times..."

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

I did prefer the newer listing tool because it shows the range of calculated shipping charges after I put in the weight and dimensions, so I know if it's reasonable for the weight or need to check the other shipping options.

However, it is NOT OK for the new tool to default to auto-relisting and not give the option to change it!

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

Today is Nov 4, 2021. There is no longer a checkbox. Just static this static text:

"Auctions will be automatically relisted up to 8 times for free and do not count towards your monthly listings balance. Auctions with a 1 or 3-day duration will be relisted with a 7-day duration."
