Turning off Auto Relisting

Hi All,

I can't find how to turn off auto relisting.

eBay says it is in drop down on box next to item but it isn't there.

Using Chrome and Quick Listing method of listing items.

I don't see it at bottom of page when I'm listing an item either.

I assume the reason i have so many duplicates in the UNSOLD relisted area is because eBay automatically relists items 8 times?

BTW is there a way to trun on automatic spell correction when typing on eBay. Sure would hlep!

Thanks,

Al

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

I would like to be able to keep the relist 8 times on when I create multiple new listings and also when relisting ended listings.

With a new Auction Listing there is an option for “Automatically relist this item up to 8 times if it doesn't sell. No insertion or optional listing upgrade fees for each relist.” “Automatically relisted items won't be charged insertion or optional listing upgrade fees. Final value fees still apply.”

The box will not stay checked if the listing is saved as a template.

The box will not be checked if you are relisting an item.

The box is not available for Bulk Listings.

If you want to relist 200 items and have no changes, it is simple enough to do and can be done very rapidly with a few keystrokes. However, if you want to use the function to Automatically relist up to 8 times, you must open each individual listing and check the Box.  However, if you want to make a change such as a Shipping Fee this can be done with a few key strokes and you do not have to open each individual listing to do this.

Even with initially creating Bulk Listings this is not an option. Once you are complete with the Bulk Listings you must go back and open each individual listing to check the Box.

This is difficult to do for hundreds of listing as it is very time-consuming process to complete and it is very difficult to keep track of the Listings where the Box needs to be checked or have already been checked.

Using the “Seller Hub” it is near impossible to keep track of the Listings that have been edited as nothing changes on the page as you edit the listings.

In the Classic View it is a little easier to keep track of your changes because as you click the Edit Button and make changes then go back to your listings button changes from Blue to Purple.  After you make all the changes you can go back refresh your page and then click on More Actions.  If the action “Remove Automatic Relist” is listed, then you know the Relist 8 Time Box has been checked.

In the Seller Hub there is an option to “Assign Automation Rules” to relist an item once or continually until it sells.  This function can be done in bulk however it charges for each relist.

Seems like there could be a way to save the option “Automatically relist this item up to 8 times if it doesn't sell” as a Template, as a Bulk Listing function or saved to Relisted items.

It is not very productive to have to use two different Listing Programs (Seller Hub and Classic View) in order to use this function repeatedly.

Is there a better way you can advise me how to do this?

Is there a way to get eBay to consider making a change to their programs?

Perhaps within “Bulk Listings” the “Assign Automation Rules” could be change to include “No insertion or optional listing upgrade fees for each relist”.

I have talked to them on the phone twice, done a number of feedback's/surveys and sent a email to no avail.

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

I have gone thru this process and taken every step and selected not to auto resist.  However -- tho it appears to be in place, when the items listing expires Ebay goes right ahead with the auto relist.  Ive been through this process several times.  I've also spent hours upon hours trying to figure out how to find solutions.  What an epic and frustrating waist of time.  And what cluttered, dumpy,  poorly designed site.  Especially compared to other new platforms that are so chic ,easy, direct, minimal.  UGH!!!!! I just dont want my sh** to be relisted.  Help.

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

Unfortunately that's not true. There are only two options available when you click the black arrow next to "sell similar" -- revise or end listing. There is no option to cancel automatic relisting.

I’m on a Mac. I don’t have more actions under sell similar. Is there another way to get to this screen?

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

I find this practice to be outright deceptive.

I have one item currently listed for sale.

The other three I have just taken down after auto-relist without my authorization.

No email, no text...just put it up time after time.

When did this practice start?

I have now spent the last hour looking for that check box.

I still have not... and as soon as my item sells or the auction is over, I plan on closing the account.

I hate dishonesty.

Have tried all suggestions. Switched to classic view. All selling. Using PC. No option to turn off auto realist from drop down arrow. Have wasted ages on this. Frustrated!

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

In 2021 these helpful instructions (get classic view, click dropdown box etc etc) no longer seem to work. They used to. There is now an easier way. No need to switch to classic view or anything tricky, simply click on All Active, find the item you want to amend, click on arrow beside Sell similar, then click on Revise, scroll down to your listing and look for the tiny, well hidden box that reads 'Automatically relist up to 8 times if unsold'.  UNTICK IT, then save your revision. Ive included the link that came from the Ebay help page that will explain it better  https://www.ebay.com.au/help/selling/listings/creating-managing-listings/relisting-items?id=4147#sec...

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

This is really nice information.  I looks like some changes have been made with the Auto Relist up to 8 Times.  I used the function a couple of months ago and it only relisted twice then the Auctions ended after only being listed for 3 times.

Other then trying it again a couple of months ago I completely gave up on it since August 2020.  I kept getting hundreds of listing dumped.

Now it says the Auto Relist Up To 8 Times is automatic for a 5 day or longer Auction.   That will be nice if it works that way.  I will try it again in a few days.

Thanks for posting this information!!!...

Re: Turning off Auto Relisting

I'm not seeing an option to cancel automatic relist anymore. Even the post 3 posts up doesn't have a check box for me to unselect.
