I offer free shipping on all my items. On my eBay app, under my Sold items, I can scroll down to PAYMENTS > Selling Costs and see how much I paid for shipping. But the list only goes back 3 months.
Does anyone know how I can see that information on older items?
Someone on this forum explained that since most of my shipping labels are paid through PayPal, I need to have PayPal generate this information.
However while I was able to get all the shipping expenses I needed, I don't see a way to connect each label expense to its corresponding sold item.
And the eBay Details report only lists shipping costs if they're UPS or eBay Standard Envelope (since they aren't through PayPal).
Any ideas would be most appreciated.
Thank you!

eBay does not offer a shipping labels report (unfortunately).
If you have not been keeping track on your own, then all you can do is refer to the PayPal charges for labels paid with PayPal. Try to match them up by date, or just tally them up in one lump sum and don't itemize them.
And, as you realized, any labels paid for with eBay funds will be included on your transactions report.
Edit to add: Do not rely on the app for financials. Go to the website and download a transaction report here: https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin/reportslanding
As mentioned above, that will only include labels paid for with eBay funds, not the ones paid for with PayPal.

Using eBay on the desktop, go here: https://www.ebay.com/sh/performance/sales and specify the timeframe you need and press enter.
Then go down to the selling costs area and you'll see a total for shipping labels. As long as you generated the label from eBay, regardless of how you paid for it (even PayPal), it should show up here.
If you need more detailed info, use the download on the same screen and it should show you what you've spent on labels by item.
Note: again this works for labels generated using eBay. If you used another tool to generate labels, it likely will not know what you paid.

Check your email, it will help.

That report includes lump sums by item number. Could work for sellers that have one-offs! Good info. A pain to integrate it with transaction reports.
Will not work if a seller needs transaction level shipping label costs and sells multiples and/or variations. All I'm seeing as a multi-quantity seller is item number - quantity sold - lump shipping label sum for that listing for the year.
I'm not looking for my ship label info (I have a system I use), just saying how it appears for sellers of multiples.

Thank you to everyone who answered. I think you've all confirmed that the precise information I want doesn't exist, that I should have been keeping track myself (I will, from now on!), and that if I want the information I'm just going to have to sit down with my PayPal list and figure it out to the best of my ability.
(I do check my email, but it doesn't give me what I need either)
I was hoping there was some super-secret way of finding what I'm looking for . . .
Thank you all again. I'm off to spreadsheet land to bury myself in numbers for the foreseeable future.

I always look for the workaround, too. Frequently, you find it... but today, nada. Happy hunting in Spreadsheet Land. 😊
