I know Ebay used to have a way to block messages from buyers. Whomever decided to take that away needs to rethink their decision. I've started messaging them back. I'm not a person that just ignores things and will never be, so, I guess if I get kicked off it's whatever. Forcing the seller to have their inbox filled with messages from a troll is not fair for us at all. If I block someone, I obviously don't want to deal with them.
If your response is just "ignore".... No thanks. Ebay needs to change their policy here. End of story.

Best to Ignore.
Replying is fuel for the fire..

Welp. Guess my time is short here on Ebay then lol. I'm cool w/ that.

If I replied to every troll, it would be a full time job.
I prefer trolls to feel like they are talking to a brick wall...
Trolls love replies, I mean they really love them.
Don't do something trolls love..

its easy to block a buyer, you can just add them to your BBL.Also somewhere in ebay is the box to check that will stop future messages from a buyer, or question asker. If for some reason you had a transaction then I think they can still contact your for 30 days.
If you like ebay then stick around for more fun

Here's what you do:
1. Create a folder with that username.
2. When a message from them comes in, tick it, flag it as "read" and then "move to" that folder.
That's the complicated version for those of us who like to feel like we're doing something.
The easy and quick version is to just delete it.

No. I confirmed this with Ebay this morning. They took that option away because eff us sellers, right? Unless you know something I don't there is no option to block messages from buyers anymore. Meh. When I'm bored I will troll them back. If my acct gets closed because of it, I don't care. This place is getting worse and worse for us sellers anyways, might as well do as I see fit til I leave....

The BBL still exists
https://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin&BidderBlockLogin=
And the option to block communication still exists:

I can understand your frustration of someone spamming your inbox because ebay no longer allows blocking communication from an abusive member. I didn't know that ebay took away that option but not surprised.
On the other hand, you have made a decision; to feed the troll
"When I'm bored I will troll them back."
Your choice.
End of story.
Edit, penguins_dont_fly shows that ebay has not changed the ability to block.

If the person is actually a "buyer" - i.e. involved in a transaction with you - then I do not believe eBay has ever given sellers the ability to block further communication.

If you keep responding to the troll, then you're no better than the person trolling you.

Thank you.
I needed that reminder.
On these boards....
i posted a thoughtful well thought out reply to a post.
Got a snarky dismissive reply from someone on the boards a lot.
(we get so we know each other, right?)
It's Killing me not to answer.
I know it will upset me & waste my time.
"Don't do something trolls love."
You just saved me from being irritated all afternoon!!
Thanks once again!!😄😄😄

Ok. So the guy I'm referencing has never bought from me. One of my items he thinks is too expensive, so he messages me daily about it. I have that box checked. Why can he still contact me? Also, why did the person at Ebay customer service also say that you can't block buyer messages? That box may exist, but it doesn't work, at least not for me. Also, if you search this topic on this forum... you will see other people saying "I have that box checked and they can still contact me". So.... we can even test it if you like. You can block me and I will try to send you a message to see if it does work.... 🙂
To clarify, I know that you can block bidders/buyers from bidding and buying. What you can't do is block buyer messages and I will prove that to anyone who wants to test it. As I have done all of the steps you can possibly do to block them
I'm just plain sick of it....
