Hi eBay Community,
Something very troublesome just happened to one of my buyers. They purchased an item from my store and received 3 different invoices for 3 different amounts. Has this ever happened to any other seller before and if yes, what caused this. This has never happened to me before.
Thank you

Hi, I only sent one invoice. The buyer got three in a row and I only got one as I get copied on the invoices I send to buyers. How do you tell if they were sent by scammers?
Thank you

Did the buyer purchase from 2 listings that you combined into one invoice? If so then 2 of the invoices may not actually be invoices - they could be generic messages from eBay confirming the purchase and advising them to pay. The 3rd notice would be the combined invoice you sent.
Can you provide more information to troubleshoot this?

Hi, the buyer purchased just one item. The buyer has the 3 invoices but doesn't know how to send them to me. I think he/she could print them out and take a photo, then send to me. Other than that I don't have more info to share. I'm concerned because this looks bad for me as a seller. What other info would be helpful to troubleshoot? Would each invoice have a unique transaction number or anything like that?
Thank you

Let's make this simple: tell the buyer to pay the invoice that matches the correct dollar amount and they can ignore the other two.

The buyer paid from the last invoice which was the highest amount. I refunded the difference between the first invoice and the last invoice and they buyer is going to try to send me the 3 invoices so I can look at them and hopefully use to help determine what happened. The buyer is fine and has been helpful but this situation makes me look bad as a seller. Still looking for an answer and what actually caused this to happen so it doesn't happen again on my future sales.
Thank you
