Tremendous decline in sales and traffic in last 3 months

In last 3 months I noticed huge decline in traffic over the night. It dropped down from 250.000 monthly impressions to 30.000 and sales dropped down from 50 to 5.  I do follow all eBay rules, called eBay 3 times and every time i get different answer with no solution. One of them even act like she is doing something but no success.

I sell same products on other places and have no problems there - sells and traffic are steady.

After almost 5 years here on eBay I don't know what is going on but it looks like eBay puts me on standby without any reason.

It looks like eBay Help Center and eBay itself doesn't care about sellers as it did before.

Does anyone had the same problem and what are possible solutions?

Maybe it's time to close the store here since it is waist of time and money at the moment.

I have the same problem, which started near the end of 2018. I also called ebay with my concerns but got no help. Then I received the "We're sorry" letter from ebay, from a person in the corporate chain of command stating that they had changes elements of their "Platform" to improve the ebay experience for buyers and sellers. My ebay sales tanked to zero sales and never recovered to their former level. I called ebay several times and they looked at my sales history and agreed that I had hit rock bottom. They offered on help or explanation. If someone has any ideas as to what happened, I would love to hear it. Thanks

I don't know ,, except from every post that I've read about this issue nearly everyone has reported their  sales began tanking  2 to 3 months ago. I actually had to check to see if I had mistakenly  began to read the same  letter  at first . This   means that e bay has done something  to cause it ,, directly or indirectly .  It's odd that  GTC began  around the same time as the sales began to slow  down.   However  I can't see how GTC  could possibly have that MUCH of a negative effect. Perhaps in some ways it could  but  I  can't just wrap my head around  blaming GTC for all of this . There must be more to this story . I'd like to make a suggestion to e bay though  and hopefully  they're listening ..  Perhaps just for experimental reasons   drop the GTC  even just for a short while and let's see what happens . It can't hurt .. Tulips

E bay needs to stop pocketing so much profit  and instead  spend a bit more on some creative advertising . Tulips

Re: Tremendous decline in sales and traffic in last 3 months

What if EVERYONE on Ebay paid to have their listings stand out with that new thing Ebay is promoting? I hate that feature, and highly doubt that I will ever use it. I will not succumb to the pressure from Ebay to pay an extra fee just to get my items noticed (supposedly) more often. I'm already paying 12% on VHS that I sell, not much worth my time as it is for the ones that sell for under $10. By the time I invest my time picking out VHS to sell, listing them, taking pics and uploading, answering questions from customers, managing my unsold and active listings, packing sold items and shipping them - it's getting to where I could work at McDonalds and make more money for the time involved in my Ebay business. So NO, I will not pay more just to get my items noticed. If they can't be pulled up by a potential customer and seen on Ebay, then something is wrong!

Re: Tremendous decline in sales and traffic in last 3 months

I'd like to see Ebay do away with any listing fees. I have around 4,000 items I could list at once right now, but only list around 1500 per month because that's all my Ebay subscription gives me for "free".  I get 1,000 fixed price and 500 auction items per month "free". After that, it's 10 cents per fixed price and 35 cents for auctions. So if I did list the other 2,500 things, I'd have to pay $250 just in listing fees, with no guarantee of selling anything. That would make $325 just in listing fees basically, not to mention the 12% that Ebay charges plus Paypal fees when something sells. With the huge decline in sales volume the past few months, I sure cannot afford to pay more fees than I am bringing in with sales volume. Of course, I'd probably sell a little more if I did list everything I had in my inventory at once, but how much more? Enough to easily pay my Ebay, Paypal, and storage unit fees, and still make some money on top of that? I doubt it!

BUT if Ebay would forget about charging a listing fee, just think of all the many sales they'd be making because folks could list everything they had all the time. Just charge a final value fee if something sells, I'd go for that!
