Could someone expalain to me why my " tracking uploaded on time...." percentage went from 100% to 94% when I went on vacation? I set the dates that I would be gone, and even emailed my customers who bought items. EBay showed that there would be a delay in shipping, so why am I being penalized for not shipping on time? All involved knew I was on vacation! Don't offer a "vacation setting" if its going to work to my store's detriment! What should I do next time to avoid this?

Yes, you have to REVISE your handling time. ebay still expects you to ship within your stated handling time.
I prefer to HIDE all of my listings so no one can make a purchase. I do that even if I am away for 3 days.

It's been suggested elsewhere that when a seller puts their store on vacation mode to also be sure to check the box that prevents sales from being made during that time. Items can still be viewed and potential buyers can still put items on their watch list until the store is taken off vacation mode, but sales are prevented.

The basic vacation setting is nothing more than an Away message and you are still expected to ship within your stated handling time. The Help page fails to explain this, and many sellers get caught. As noted in the other posts, you have to either revise your handling time or activate the option that blocks sales.

be aware that if you do choose to "hide" your listings it can take a couple / few days for your listings to magically reappear when you "unhide" them ...
i travel fairly often for my boyfriend's job .. i change the handling time to cover my away time and adjust it thru the week as well as using the vacation mode setting (but do not hide my listings anymore as last time i did .. it took almost a full week before my listings were all viewable upon my return)

Check out this link - go to Put Your Store on Vacation for you specific issue. But there is a lot more stuff you might want to catch up on - some time the school of hard knocks ain't so kind.

Good morning, I had that happen the first time I went on vacation and put my store on vacation. According to eBay, they stated that my setting for handling time (same day, 1 day, etc) should have been changed to reflect the change in delay of shipping. The defects look at your shipping/handling time and if you do not meet that, even in vacation setting mode, than you receive defects for late shipments. I had never had an issue with defects related to shipping (well, except for USPS problems, not my own), my buyers consistantly compliment me on the speed of delivery, and eBay would not remove the defects. However, they did fall off after the 90 day time frame and a new cycle began. If you have other issues that push you further into getting kicked out of Pro standing, than I would call and ask them to remove the defects. If not, I would suggest letting it ride out the 90 days. They should make it clearer within the vacation setting and should have a direct link within the setting to allow temporary change to your handling time. Good luck and Happy New Year! Sandra Franz
