Tracking hasn't updated. Buyer wins case. Money back?

Hello all,

I've shipped out an item to an APO address but was restricted from adding additional insurance or signature confirmation.  It was suppose to arrive 6 days ago but the last tracking update is "In Transit to Next Facility" which was 12 days ago.

The buyer wants a refund and I've basically been informed by Ebay that unless there is any change in tracking the buyer will win the case and I will lose both my money and the item.  This is a high value item that is also large in dimension.  I know that shipping to an APO address can take lots of time and it will most likely arrive to the destination but just very late.

I was wondering if the item does eventually show as arrived, is it possible for the seller to get the money back?  I am just very saddened about the seller dependence on tracking information and since this is a high value item that I could use to put towards my tuition, I would really not want to lose both the money and the item.

You can try to recall the parcel.

In my experience putting a trace on a package might shake it loose and get it to move.

 No, you'll not get your money back if the item eventually shows delivered--unless you're dealing with an honest buyer who will repay you via PayPal if it arrives. I've actually done that with an Amazon marketplace seller, so it's certainly possible.

Many sellers exclude APO/FPOs in their shipping policies for this very reason.

How do you think eBay should establish whether the buyer received the item? What other criteria would they use to prove the buyer ever got it?

I hope this item wasn't over $750 including shipping or you may have more problems even if it shows delivered.

@na-jac8

Did you try logging on to the USPS site  then enter tracking number then doing a request for updates to see if it may shake loose
This sometimes works for me
Click that down arrow in below screen shot from the USPS site & request every update you can to either text or your email

If it works & starts movement then maybe if you call ebay CS & they see you are working with the carrier they will do an extension on the case
It's worth a shot
