Tracking Uploaded and Validated defect eBay CS FAIL!

On another eBay account I recently received a defect for “Tracking Uploaded and Validated” on an item that was purchased on 11/16/24. Apparently many other Sellers had the same issue on that date due to an eBay glitch. In my case, I shipped the item within 3 1/2 hours. Tracking confirms that the USPS accepted the package at that time.

As I am a Top Rated Seller on that account this defect of course concerned me. Thinking it was a simple matter to contact CS and have it removed I called and was told my request for removal would be reviewed and I’d have a resolution within 24-48 hours.

When when I receive the email from customer service I was shocked! I was told that they would not remove the defect because I was still under the threshold of defects that would result in a loss of my Top Rated status.

Let’s see if I have this straight eBay! You gave me an unwarranted defect due to a technical glitch but you won’t remove it even though tracking reviewed in real time on your site shows I am not at fault.

This is simply absurd! Needless to say I am deeply offended that although I’ve worked hard to  earn Top Rated status by shipping each and every purchase on time, eBay’s performance can be so pathetic! 

If anyone can provide the correct steps to have the defect removed. I would greatly appreciate it.

@discounts4days  Did these happen to be mailed out on the 16th?  There was a glitch that caused many sellers to be hit by the same thing.  I was one. I had one fall off when it was delivered.  I still have one hanging on.  Tagging  kyle@ebay  to see if he can look into it for you.  Or you can reach Ebay faster on their Facebook page. Just message them.  I know it can be scary when you can't afford to get the dings on your account.   Hang in there.  I'm sure someone will fix it since it's not your fault.

FWIW, I checked my account tonight and the defect/no tracking defect fixed itself.

I've seen that reason before when trying to get a defect removed.  It happened to me.  A long time ago, but still I remember it as I really gave Ebay heck over that.

Since the smaller sellers are reviewed on their stats for the past 12 months, a unwarranted defect today, while not important now, could be VERY important anytime in the next 11-12 months.  My crystal ball simply can't tell me today if I should just relax and take it or fight.

I really think this is a ridiculous thing to say to sellers and Ebay needs to do better !!!!

The very same thing happened to me, same date.  I messaged ebay on facebook -  This is how they answered:

"That is odd that it's showing as 'not uploaded at all', as it was shipped using an eBay label. I've reported this to our technical team to see what's going on and take further action. If you see this happen with any other orders, let us know. With filing this ticket, we'll make sure that your Seller Performance is protected on the transaction."

A few hours later the defect was removed.
