Got notice from eBay on my alt account 3/26 that I was top rated seller now, checked my dashboard and confirmed it
I sold an item today and still was charged a low performance fee (70$ extra is absurd but that’s another topic)
anybody Know why this happens? Thanks

They do the evaluation on the 20th of the month.......but it doesn't go into effect until the lst of the next month........ So anything you sell on the lst and later should be at be at the normal/not below standard rate.....
Congrats!!!

Top rated seller but still being charged below standard performance fee? What gives ?
"What gives" is that eBay is doing exactly what it said it would.
What happens if you are Below Standard:
If your evaluation on the 20th of the month shows that you are not meeting our minimum standards, we may put limitations on your selling activity until your performance improves. To see what you can do to bring your level back to Above Standard, read our article on Monitoring and improving your seller performance.
Some limitations are applied straight away after the evaluation, while others take effect from the 1st of the following month.
If your seller level improves at a future evaluation, the same time frames will apply for limitations to be removed.
From the 1st day of the month following the evaluation:

How did you go from below standard to top seller without a stop at standard or above standard first? I'm curious as I'm an above standard striving for top seller. I'm sure you must have done something outstanding to do that and I'd love to replicate that.

The criteria for TRS are based on defects, sales volume, and tracking, so it's possible to meet the latter two while also having excessive defects on your record. If enough of the defects roll off, or if there are a lot of sales, then their percentage of defective transactions will no longer fail the "below standard" threshold and the seller will go straight to TRS without a stop at "Above standard."
Also, there is no basic "Standard" rating; the only ratings are Below Standard, Above Standard, and Top Rated Seller.

I do not understand who gets to evaluate a sellers performance...had an account for 20 years and it took only one buyer to screw up my perfect score. I guess little sellers do not have a chance on this platform anymore.
And I do this has a hobby not as a business who clogs up listings with repetitive stuff that can be out of stock.
I wish I knew how to fix the standard on this platform.
Thanks

@Anonymous
Yes, it's tough for the little guy.
I took the honest "out of stock hit" for an item that I could not locate and am teetering on the brink.
It's all about %ages.
We perform or perish............................ by eBay rules/standards.

Ebay has put into effect a set of standards that they expect all sellers to meet.
In the Internet age, there is no wiggle room.
