Did anyone else loose their top rated status because while the Vacation setting were on and people still bought your items. If you are not home how can you possible ship. I even wrote in my header please do not pay and they did anyway.
I was paying my neighbor to pack and ship my sales but she could not always go and it was costing me more than my items were. I was in the hospital and could not help in any way.
I do not think that it is fair to be penalized while away.

No, I don't think you have to agree that Ebay is a big bad monster. I don't think Ebay is.
But it's clear that this is commonly misunderstood so clearly ebay doesn't help in this matter. In my case, I wasn't sure how long I'd be selling on ebay and TRS wan't something I was striving for. I put the store in vacation mode thinking it's all taken care of, as others have. And again, I ask, if the customers are all ok with waiting, then why the penalty? If a buyer asks me to hold something, I can have the defect removed.
I do think your comment, "I do understand it is easier to blame others though when something goes wrong and we are negativelly affected" was snarky based on the fact the OP is upset (and rightly so).
Would you say that to someone's face while they are clearly upset? It's easy to type things, but remember there is a face on the other side of that computer. I'm not trying to attck you. You give very helpful advice here, but that just stung me and I thought I'd point it out. We can all be nicer to each other and still disagree.

Vacation SettingsI'm really sorry this happened to you, once you click the Hide your fixed price listings, it does say your auctions will run as scheduled. When you click on the ? it would be nice if they added to end your auctions if they end prior to your return or to change your shipping time frame to avoid a late ship. When they added the shipping late defects, I guess they just assumed sellers would know to keep S&H with in their time frames.
In an emergency like yours, the reminder would have been nice.
Hope you are feeling better.![]()

Yes I am a very blunt person and I say exactly what I think. Some may not like it but I find that it is best to have the cards laid out in the open to avoid misunderstandings. The flip side to that is that I am also as loyal to my word as a lab pup is to his ptsd wounded warrior. The good and the bad all in one package.

If someone has your item saved, they can still purchase your item even if you select to hide your listings, that would be for for new potential customers.

That loophole has been closed. Even if a member accesses your hidden listing (eg., through a browser bookmark or their Watch list) they won't be able to purchase. They get an error message:

Rather than blame ebay for taking your TSR status away, you could have ended your auctions. If you could answer questions daily, you could have ended the listings. Buyers dont see your shop header if they just click on your auction, they need to actully visit your shop.

I am sorry, but I still feel it is unfair. For years I have always shipped within 24 hours. For the fees we pay they can give a grace period for top rated sellers with great track record. It is supposed tobe about customer service and especially when all my customer were all informed and they were fine waiting an extra day or 2 for shipment and gave me a five star rating. Iguess you have never had an emergency situation.

If you had known to hide your listings, that would not have helped, if they were purchased from a watch list.

I am in the same boat, but for a different reason. I am not being given credit for all sales.
In August, my sales number on my dashboard was 20 less than my actual sales. This has been going on for several months. I was stressed about it, but finally realized there is nothing I can do about it. This month, my sales on my seller page says zero, but orders have been received by customers. Everything is a mess and getting worse everyday.
I refuse to waste time calling.

My neighbor contacted my customers and answered the questions. As stated before they were all fine. Only eBay had the problem. Since I had bids on some of the auctions, they would have lost out on my items being sold. Selling pays bills.
You were given the solution to future problems, if you wont use it, thats no skin off my back.
While I feel for your situation, ebay wont remove your defects for shipping late. If they did yours, then they would have to remove them for everyone who called in with an excuse, valid or not.

ebay has closed the loophole that allowed members to purchase hidden items if they somehow accessed the hidden listing (e.g., through their Watch list or a bookmark). Now if you do that you get a polite error message:
