I have a collection of vintage Coleman lanterns to liquidate. These have a pretty good following in North America but I am told that they are very popular among japanese collectors who will often pay more.
Any practical tips to make an auction more attractive to a Japanese buyer?
Best way to ship?
Auction end time? Is there a time better than Sunday night in the US?
thanks

I don't know that there is anything that would make it more attractive to them.
If you list it, they will come.

Use ebays Global Shipping Program the shipping will be cheaper and try to list from 7 pm CST to 9 PM CST that way they can bid while at work...

The one other thing prior to listing is if they've been fired take out the filiment make mention of it in the listing and its a piece of cake for a buyer to put a new one in. They are brittle once fired and never make the trip and the get something for free buyers file a SNAD because the filiment fell apart during shipping...

The mantles are very cheap - you may want to include a pack of them with every lantern.

I would suggest ending your auctions at night in Japanese time.
Shipping via USPS Priority works great.
There are Japanese buying service websites that help Japanese buyers buy from US Ebay, so as long as you take good photos and provide detailed descriptions in your listings you should be all set.

Possibly listing according to Japan time, when buyers will be able to buy in the evening.
Just a thought.

Sorry, D-K, I meant have the listing end at a time when people in Japan will be able to buy, when it is evening there. Hope that makes sense! I didn't mean not to sell here.
