Hi eBay Community,

I recently applied for Forward-Deployed Inventory Approval for my eBay store. I am based in Sri Lanka, and my inventory is stored in a warehouse in China, with direct shipping to buyers.

Could anyone share how long it typically takes for eBay to approve such requests? I’ve submitted the necessary documents and am waiting for confirmation.

If a buyer gets a defective item...where does the buyer return it?

Would there be a person in China taking returns and giving refunds?...where the address is in English and not Chinese?

In addition to not seeing any of the products you plan to sell (because they are going direct from the China factory to the buyer), you are also competing against every other seller of the same items from the same Chinese suppliers.

You should be selling products that you obtain yourself in Sri Lanka, so that you can do your own photos and write your own listing. You are more likely to find buyers that want to buy your items from your country than you will find by being just one more seller of cheap Chinese items.
