Time for my weekly item specifics complaint. What part of No Stone Confuses you?

ignore me, I'm just frustrated to the point of every item specific becoming shut your *&*%%$ mouth.

It's a necklace, it's just a chain, nothing else.

First choice is stone and I choose No stone.  It's a choice, it's there, it works.

Second stone-choose No stone

Now I'm into grading diamonds on this no stone stupid necklace because the people of eBay cannot figure out how one question correlates to another.  No  stone means no stone.  Not ask me more stupid idiot questions about stones it doesn't have.

And yes, I could ignore the questions but then I get the email that I'm missing eight hundred item specifics.  And that makes me mad all over again.

Are there any brain cells working at eBay?   Does anyone working here have a clue how completely stupid this is?  Or is the issue they just don't care?

Rant over, I quit.

One would think a reasonably competent coder could just do a couple of if..then statements to fix that.

If (no stone selected) then (grey out any further fields about stones)

"If it sold FAST, it was priced too low" - also Reese Palley

I know what you mean. You put in No Stone, then it asks, "Is the stone graded?", no, okay "What's the clarity?", etc.

Hmm maybe go with a stone called Air: one can look up the gases mix ratio of such.....

Would be the most listed stone on eBay.....

Yep its sarcasm..

.That stone window should be able to be left blank.

@divwido

I understand your frustration.  I also sell jewelry and I deal with it as well.  My concern is what if the customer sees the word "diamonds" in the description and only diamonds? We are at the mercy of a return due to someone else's errors and mistakes.  It needs to be removed along with so many others in the jewelry category.  If I'm selling a bracelet, there is no cut, clarity, how many prongs, diamonds, chain, etc.  The category asks you at least 3 times the color of the stone, the shape, the grade.  Semi precious stones are seldom graded like diamonds.  And if I had diamonds in the jewelry, the last place I'd try to sell it would be Ebay.

Hope this provides some relief  to know others are tired of the botched up work in the items specifics and their solution seems to be ignoring the problems instead fixing them.

Have a better day. 🙂

AMEN...

In fact, the REASON I don't bother listing stuff under $9.99, etc.

Too much wasted time, easier, faster, to sell at Flea Mkt.
