Those using calculated shipping, how are you calculating your final sale for fees?

Like the title says, since the price can vary depending on buyer location based on the item weight and dimensions inputted, how are those using calculated shipping calculating your final sale amount to have an idea of the fees and profit per item. I hate eBay includes shipping in the final sale amount for the fees.  I used to use a fixed shipping amount but that can also go south real quick. 

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

When I was using calculated shipping, I'd go to the USPS web site and see what it would cost to ship to Cali. and use it to get an idea on the fee's.

If you want to get an idea of the fee, pretend that you are shipping that box to the farthest state away from you. I am in NY so I use a zipcode for Ca.  When I see the cost, I decide on the starting price. I usually add 1 to 3.oo Handling fee depending on the final weight. I do not sell anything over a cubic foot. If I need to add a bit more for signature confirmation or insurance, I roll that cost into the starting price.  I am well aware that insurance is for the seller so don't bother emailing me. I do it for me in some situations.

The best thing that you guys can do is LEARN to use calculated shipping.  I did not have to edit any of my listings that have calculated shipping whenever there is a price increase.

Thanks, to date I always pay less than shipping than what charged, as mentioned before, I created an excel sheet that is pretty accurate when it comes to giving me profit per item when i enter cost, sell amount, taxes etc.  but that was mostly using a fixed shipping rate, but honestly from doing research using calculated shipping saves headaches. 

And yes, I am aware taxes are just used to calculated final sale fees but ebay remits those to the state.

A $20 item with a ship cost of $10 + $1.50 tax and money transfer fee = $31.50 Ebay takes $3.90.

$20.00

-$3.90

$16.10 profit = 19.5% cost to sell

Some items more and very few less so that is why I average 20%

Ahh I miss understood you, I thought you mean 20% ebay fees lol I just plugged in your example into my excel sheet and im off some cents, nice to know it works!!
