This is exactly why I never leave feedback for someone right away just because they paid for it. I am reluctantly issuing a full refund, including her shipping. Ebay rep said that when I receive it back, they will issue me a refund on the return shipping fee I had to pay for.
Buyers takes no responsibility for their obvious mistake and gets a full refund.

On my selling ID I see no reason why not to leave my buyer positive feedback immediately. IF (and thankfully I have not had any negs) someone did leave me a negative feedback, depending upon what the buyer said, I might contact them to ask for a feedback revision (since I am sure I would be able to resolve any problem to my buyer's satisfaction and make them happy) OR I would respond to their neg (staying within eBay policy) so that everyone/anyone who reads it understands the real problem was not me, the seller.

The OP sold an album. Album=doesn’t mean it’s a record or LP. If the buyer doesn’t know what duration is......then maybe that’s why they thought it was a record even though it’s clearly notLet me say first that I am not suggesting that the OP has done anything wrong here, but speaking as an Old Far-- wait, sorry, speaking as a member of the Beatles era, I still have to admit that when I see the word "album," I think of an LP, never a CD, even though I agree on a... technical?... basis with what you're saying. I mean, even a photo album refers to something that's the size of an LP, not a CD.
Maybe to help avoid future clueless buyers, especially those reading mobile listings, you could add a new entry in the "About This Item" section reading "Format: CD" and see if that helps to reinforce the message.
An "album" is a collection of items under one cover. It has nothing to do with physical size.
Photo Album
Stamp Album
Coin Album
Record Album
Even digital items can be sorted into albums.
"Here's DeathbyChocolate's new single Fudge from their album Just Desserts. The song and the album are available now on CD, Vinyl and via digital download"

^^^^^^^^ this is it
A quick check of my selling accounts shows 19.67% feedback from buyers on one account, and 18.6% on the other. Wife's is a bit better at 25%.
Items are accurately described, and listed with photos.
Items are well packaged, and shipped with tracking, same day, or next business day.
That pretty much debunks the theory that leaving feedback for buyers when they pay will result in much of anything.
I don't need any more + feedback. I leave buyer feedback shortly after I ship.
My buying account has more feedbacks left for sellers than I have received. It will have even more left when the last 3 purchases arrive. Well maybe. Two 99 cent items are coming from China. As long as they arrive, they will probably get a +, or nothing. Didn't pay much, don't expect much, but will be good enough for who its for.

Who did this research?
eBay did the research. The link to eBay's statement is in some of the recent threads.
OPINIONS may vary. My opinion is the same as most sellers. Years ago, some buyers would leave feedback first because they would get more feedback that way. Buyers wanted more feedback so they would look better to sellers.
Buyers do not care as much about getting more feedback now; therefore, they no longer will leave feedback first to get more feedback. Some buyers will not leave feedback unless the seller leaves feedback first.

That link you provided proves absolutely nothing. There’s no proof eBay did the research. They said they did but history has shown us that what ebays isn’t really what eBay means or what eBay does or what eBay did.

If it's any comfort...even if you had left feedback already, nobody reads buyers' feedback received anyway. Just their feedback left.
Feedback received, for buyers, is just a meaningless gesture that for some of them, provides some kind of stroke to their ego. To readers, it's a nothing burger - not even worth looking at
Yes, it seems that feedback for buyers is usually read only by the buyer. That is why they say it is mainly just another way to thank a buyer and to recognize the buyer.
Since no one looks at it except the buyer, that lets sellers know whether it is best for them to leave feedback when they ship, or to wait until the buyer leaves feedback. The seller might ask himself: "When it is too soon to be courteous to a customer"
