Question is basically the title...........have had 2 Selling IDs forever it seems..........
Since we get all these extra listings for free now on a basic Store...........any real point to 2 Selling IDs?
Wondering if that will be one of the changes in the Spring Selling Update....the extra you get for a Basic is a real deal (can't imagine too many who did not downgrade to a Basic from a Premium like we did)
Thoughts? It sure would be easier with 1 ID...........anyone else downsize recently or change the number of IDs/stores they have? Reasons to keep more than 1 ID?

I see no advantage of two stores. It actually just seems like more work to me.

I would consolidate. I rarely see the point in having all of these little stores and IDs unless one sells truly antithetical items (i.e., drive-through panties and childrens clothing, for instance) which might be poor optics. And actually think they cut sales. I've had people buy quite an assortment of things from me when I had more of a 'general store', and found that they would check my listings for other similar items.
I went from premium to basic and then to starter when GTC came in. Save me loads of money.

Still using basic....with all the free listings, seems to make sense over starter?

I would consolidate, right now

@katzrul15 I use starter because I like some of the perks like being able to hold markdown sales and also having a 'consolidated' presence - a lot of my buyers actually shop my store (I have repeat business and browsers), plus my store name is registered as a business. So for $4.95/mo I figured it's worth keeping it for that.
ETA: I don't have enough listings to need a store at all, really - basic is way more than I would need. I'll probably be letting the store go after I run out of hang tags lol because by then I won't have much left.

You don't really explain why you would be tempted to wait until after the Spring Update, but I assume because you are concerned that ebay will reduce the number of free listings for the various store tiers?
That could happen....ebay can do whatever it wants with fees...but I wouldn't let the possibility stop me from consolidating....it's possible, but I see no reason to think it's probable...JMHO.

okay - makes sense!

No, I think they will charge more for the Store tiers......

@katzrul15 Again, always possible. But if that's the only reason you are hesitating, it it were me, I'd just go ahead and consolidate. But again, that's just me. It's a gamble I'd be willing to take....on the other hand, the Update will likely be late Feb - early March, so if there's also no real hurry, you could always just wait and see what happens.

I had 2 stores last year, was cheaper on fees but when they upgrade the premium store from 1k to 10K, its saving me $50-$100 a month in listing fee's and didn't have to decide what to keep or drop

Yes, right now! And change your ID to something like..rashiklandxcobroyuxxrtplmm_0.
That seems like a new trend!

One of my IDs is relatively "feminine" and this one more "masculine" .
That used to mirror the markets for my offerings.
That has changed somewhat over the past couple of decades.
I have downgraded my Stores to Basic because of the large numbers of Promotional Free Listings, but I keep them for the occasional discount, the shipping supplies coupons, and being able to sort my listings by sub-category. (Canada/ FDC/ Commonwealth/US and Foreign/ postcards/etc.)
