On June 21, 2018 a buyer purchased my $700 gold coin and intercepted twice after getting the tracking number. She told her bank that her eBay account was hacked. She did NOT go through ebay or paypal. PayPal investigated and decided to put my account in collections, owing $700. I paid for postal signature confirmation but regret not getting it insured. The post office lost my gold coin. I asked the seller repeatedly for paperwork only to get legal threats . I have been unable to sell on eBay for almost 2 years and REALLY suffering since the last month on eBay I sold almost $2000 worth items. I can't sell on eBay because of PayPal and I am anxiously waiting for new payment system. Covid 19 pandemic has caused me major financial strain. HELP!!! Do not use the Doffyn post office in Chicago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is unfortunate but this far out I don't believe there is much of anything most anyone can do...
I am also not sure what went wrong here, if you can give us a detailed step by step of what transpired it is possible someone here can shed light on how to prevent future occurrences of this nature.

Can you explain what you mean by "intercepted twice"?
She told her bank that her eBay account was hacked. She did NOT go through ebay or paypal.
Indirectly, she did go through PayPal - because that is where the unauthorized use claim eventually turned up. What reason did PayPal give you for not honoring their Seller Protection policy against unauthorized transactions? Did you not meet some of the criteria for being covered?
I asked the seller repeatedly for paperwork only to get legal threats .
I assume you mean the buyer. Unfortunately, the buyer is not required by eBay or PayPal to provide you with paperwork

TO be more specific, you can't sell on eBay because you allowed your PayPal account to go into collections rather that reimbursing them for the shortfall. In retrospect, it might have been worth funding that $700 in order to preserve your potential to sell $48,000 over the next 24 months.

Nothing can be done to help for something that happened 2 years ago.

No offense but your story is all over the place. Please explain it better.
"I have been unable to sell on eBay for almost 2 years and REALLY suffering since the last month on eBay I sold almost $2000 worth items."
You have been unable to sell on ebay yet you sold $2000 worth of items on ebay?
I will take your advice. I will not use the Doffyn post office in Chicago.
Good luck and stay safe!

You had better find a another platform to sell on, because from what I understand, when everyone is switched over to the wonderful managed payments, there will be no more coin selling!

Just curious why you did not insure a $700 item.
How do you know the post office lost your coin?
You said you did put signature confirmation on the package. Did the buyer sign for the package so you have proof of delivery?
Insurance is for the seller, not the buyer. If indeed the post office lost your package and the buyer did not receive it, then you would be responsible for reimbursing her the $700. If you refused to do that, then of course, she would have asked her credit card company to step in. She should not be out the money if she did not receive the coin.
