The volume pricing and promoted listings

Hello there! I haven't listed anything in eBay for a few years and some thing for me are new and unknown.

  1. The volume pricing - I get the idea but don't get how does it work. I have a 5 listings, each with dozens of variations and I am offering volume buying discounts in each of those listings so I have a legit questions:
    • Does the discount applies only on 1 listings variation which has a multiple copies or it applies for all variations in a listing
    • Does the the discount applies within one listing or it sums up with all listings with volume pricing discounts
  2. Promoted listings - again I get the idea but there are few questions I would like to ask:
    • The ad rate - is that the final value % fee when my item is sold?
    • So as I understand bigger ad rate converts in more views? But how many more? Does the trending ad rate is the best fee vs views converted?

Thanks in advance, best regards

Volume Pricing-

Does the discount applies only on 1 listings variation which has a multiple copies or it applies for all variations in a listing

It applies to each variation individually. To get the discount a buyer has to purchase more than 1 of the same variation.

Does the the discount applies within one listing or it sums up with all listings with volume pricing discounts

It applies to each listing individually- it will not apply across multiple variations.

Since you only have 1 of each variation you would be better off using promotions manager and using order discounts- however this is only available to store subscribers.

Promoted Listings-

The ad rate - is that the final value % fee when my item is sold?

No, the promoted listing fee is in addition to the standard final value fee.

So as I understand bigger ad rate converts in more views? But how many more? Does the trending ad rate is the best fee vs views converted?

It depends on your category, your listing presentation, your competition, etc- there is no one answer to this question.

Thanks, I appreciate your time by answering. I have one more little off-topic.

Does the brand new conditioned items get better standings in search results than like new an others?
