Are you suggesting (as eBay does absolutely nothing to protect sellers and encourages buyer dishonesty and theft) that all sellers now nuckle-under, go along to get along, and accept such as standard seller practice?

Many years ago I was a very active here on the boards but I rarely post anymore, I still lurch but don't post much.
It might not be a lesson but what I have learned by eavesdropping here is how many people that need or want their money now. I cannot believe the numbers that pull their money out of paypal as soon as they were paid. I was taught to leave some in there just in case there was a problem. Yes, I might have pulled money out every month but the money I pulled out was from 3 months earlier that I earned.
I guess I grew up in a different time then the need it now generation. I was taught to have backup funds for a few months just in case something happens like what is going on now. Anyways I took it a step farther and I have taught myself that no matter what you invest in each investment/business venture has it own accounts and have a cushion barrier of funds for 3 -6 months. I do get accused of having too much cushion because I like doing it by each investment/business I am involved in versus just having like 1 personal account with a few dollars in it.
I just don't understand need it now generation that will buy a $1,000 cell phone as soon as it hits the market and in the same week need to sell something here and get paid now so they can afford to ship it or buy foods for their kids. Mind boggling
Isn't just here. The store I am temporary helping out, even the employees cannot wait to get paid. Seems like most of them are living paycheck to paycheck. I am glad I wasn't taught or brought up that way especially in these times.
Sorry for rambling on and getting off your subject and wanted to post what I see alot of here, people complaining about manage payment versus paypal but yes I do agree you are absolutely right never list anything you cannot afford to lose.

Yes why are you selling things just to make money or to have a nice PayPal or managed payments account balance that eBay can go into at anytime for any reason and take your money to refund the dishonest buyers that they provide to us. Stop spending your money eBay may need it.

Wage stagnation for the average person over the past 40 years isn't helping this - many people ARE living paycheck to paycheck. The phone thing is stupid, though, I agree, though blowing huge amounts of money for an overpriced dingus for status is nothing new - that's been with us since zog got the shiniest rock in the stone age.
