Hi,
As a seller, I noticed it is really hard to build up your seller score on eBay. If buyers satisfied with their transations, only a few people will comeback and left a positive feedback for you. However, if buyers feel upset with the transations, they will comeback and left a negtive feedback definitely.
To be fair, the feedback system should automatically left a positive feedback to seller after 30 days the buyer received the item.

Some buyers (such as myself) don't like to give negs when there are problems.........so I just don't leave any........I might reconsider IF a automatic positive was left...........

No, it should not.

Absolutely not.
I have had purchases where I wasn't thrilled but chose not to leave feedback. If eBay was going to leave it for me, we'd have a problem.
I also sell and don't worry if I don't get feedback. I like it, but I can live without it.
Feedback is VOLUNTARY - for both buyers and sellers. Make it mandatory and you might not like what you get.
Feedback also isn't as important as it was 20 years ago. Online shopping is now the norm and not the exception.

That will be wonderful if all the buyers like you.
I just got a bad feedback because of the shipping damages. I tried to help my buyer to make it right, but he dosen't reply me. That's my first bad feedback, it feels like all your effort are gone lol

It should be hard. If it was easy, it would be even more meaningless than it is now.

So eBay should award feedback that looks like it came from a buyer, when it really didn't?
You might call that "fair" - I call it a "lie".
If a seller does not deserve a positive, I do not leave one. If I knew eBay was going speak for me and leave a positive, it would encourage me to leave more negatives.

That really convinced me.

There are probably an equal number of people who feel that BUYERS should get automatic positives and I have never understood sellers who leave feedback just after I pay. There are SOOOO many things that can go wrong between the time I pay and the time I get the item in my hand and even after that. And really, some sellers kinda suck and deserve NO feedback but if I am happy with the item I just let it go and move on.

@monkeyrabbitgroup I think a lot depends on what one is Selling and who is Buying ... I think the Feedback system is a system of the past. I think it needs to be replaced with something more modern. I understand what you are saying but since the whole FB system is based on actual member involvement an automatic FB would not make sense.
One established ID here runs between 55% - 60% FB received and another newer ID is at about 45% - 50%. I have a sneaking suspicion that of all the Buyers out there less than 1/2 ever concern themselves with FB unless there is a problem. In this point and click instant gratification day and age people move on to other things very quickly ... those who experience the "wow" factor when they receive something I bet are sure to respond ...

You are correct that many satisfied buyers won't bother to leave any feedback, even though they are happy with their purchase. I'm here on eBay and in my accounts MUCH of every day, but those buyers likely aren't, and it's a stupid hassle to have to log in and click through, just to leave somebody a feedback that actually doesn't mean all that much anymore to most.
But here's the thing about deciding to have an automatic positive left by ebay for every buyer who fails to leave his own feedback.... you will certainly encourage more buyers to respond, BUT... sometimes the reason why they didn't leave any feedback before is because they weren't all THAT happy with the transaction or the item they got, or whatever. Not unhappy enough to leave neutral or negative, but not happy enough to leave positive either!!
But if eBay is going to take over and leave a positive feedback that a buyer doesn't want left, he is more than likely going to take a moment to leave you the real feedback he kindly held back from, and you may not like it!
Gathering feedback numbers takes time. And truthfully, the number you already have is plenty for most buyers to feel completely confident in buying from you, so a higher number won't bring you any MORE sales.
And if you really want to build up your feedback numbers quickly, BUY things here yourself. Since most sellers still leave feedback for their buyers, even if they don't get any back, you can rack up dozens and dozens of feedbacks in a very short period of time! And most buyers don't notice whether your feedback numbers are from being a buyer or a seller. Most don't even care.

I am sometimes not happy with a transaction.
But unless it is a scammer, I do not want to scr*w with his livelihood because I know things happen.
So I do not leave any feedback, just never purchase from them again.
Your way I just may leave accurate feedback.

I'm sorry about your non-positive, but it was a neutral so you still sit at 100%
Why can't you guarantee proper shipping so damage doesn't occur? It's your responsibility.
That statement in your listing would make me hesitant to buy. No one wants to spend that kind of money to receive a damaged item - even if you do make it right. It's a potential hassle and most buyers avoid those.

Feedback percentages need to go back the way the used to be.
Negative = (-3)
Neutral = (-1)
Positive = (+1)
The feedback system is so misleading as everyone has a 99% or better. It is designed that way so Ebay does not look bad having all those sellers with real scores of 80% and up. Every seller who comes here with problems state that they are great because they have 99.3% and up. You look at their feedback and they have 12 or so angry buyers giving negs and neutrals. It is too hard to actually distinguish between the good and the bad as everyone looks good. Go to the buyers board and see the unhappy buyers comments about "I thought it was a good seller, they have a 99% feedback rating".
There is a topic right now with a seller not only having a 99.6% rating with many unhappy buyers, but they are also showing that they are a "top rated" seller. What a joke.

But I think both you and I only truly leave negs when we absolutely MEAN IT and for good reason, not because the air conditioner is on the fritz or we havent left any negs this year so it must be time.

The item that I'm selling is tooooo big and heavy. It is a metal vehicle model over 40 inch. Even I stick the fragile notice on the package they will still have some damages by international shipping. So I put "please contact me if the item got severe damages."
