The problem with variations

I want to list an item in a category
Business & Industrial-CNC, Metalworking & Manufacturing-Raw Materials-Metals & Alloys-Metal Sheets & Flat Stock
However, it doesn't offer me options for variations. I am familiar with the fact that in some categories there are no options for variations, but other sellers have variations there. If you can advise me, I will be very grateful. I can't write to support because it's Saturday.

@and_439370

You are a new seller and new sellers have limits as to how much they can sell, how many items they can sell and what categories they are permitted to sell in.  Since you are new this might be the issue.   If I were you I would just start off small and build your way to what you are looking to sell after you have accumulated some positive sales.

Good luck.

The problem with variations

Are those sellers with variations in that category in the same country as yourself? Some sites have different rules.

Post an item number or sample in that category...it might be location restricted, or...dumb question..have you ever listed variations before?

Maybe you are not using it correctly. Look at this link for options.

The problem with variations

I don't think that there are variations allowed in that exact category. Can you share the item number of a listing in a category that has variations?

I'm done with this. But those variations just don't work.

The problem with variations

Here will be the problem in my opinion. Because I'm still only on the .com domain. The seller sells on this domain and has variations available. However, when I click on his link in the description that refers to his profile, the domain changes to .co.uk. I think it will be somehow linked and the .uk domain is allowed variations in this category.

I have already presented variations, but not in this category. I provide you with the item number. Try to look at it and let me know if something comes to mind. I tried to browse and sell the goods, it doesn't help.

When you click on that seller's listing and they are in UK British Pounds rather than in US$  then they are listing on the UK site. As you said, the categories that have variations on the UK site could be different.

Is your preferred category on the list?  If it's not, then you can't have a variation listing in that particular category.   ( I don't see CNC, Metalworking & Manufacturing  on the list)

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Something else to consider.

IF variations are allowed in that category, you have to create variations listing from scratch.

If you use "sell similar" or "i have one to sell" on a non-variations listing, the variations option will not be there.

The problem with variations

Okay, so I found out with your help that I can't list variations in a specific category (I don't understand because it should be possible, I don't see the point of it) and a person who has an ad in the same category operates on a UK domain and somehow it is connected to .com domains.
Thanks again everyone for your help I appreciate it.
