I interact with the E-bay seller hub using csv files.
I want to add the same video to all of my 2000+ listings by simply uploading an edit csv file.
I guess the process would be to upload the video to E-bay for approval and get a video id.
I could then add this video id to my csv files if I only knew the correct field name.
E-bay staff are telling me that, currently, this is not a template feature and I will have to manually edit every listing including every new listing that I add in the future.
Is anyone familiar with this process?

Also, some third party listing tools are available for free trial periods. I'll let you draw your own conclusions from that LOL

Update:
Checked again with E-bay CS and discovered that, for my 2,600 listings, I have to manually, in the listing editing tool, upload the same video each time, making me upload 400gb rather than 150mb. E-bay will then check the exact same video 2,600 times at 2 days each video making it a total of 14 years of checking time!
That is assuming they are not in a busy period and need 7 days to check the same video each time.

Even if we allow that E-bay will only take 2 minutes to check and approve a one-minute video, that is still more than 86 hours of some poor soul checking the same video again and again ...

How to add a video to your listing
You can only add one video per listing, but you can use the same video on multiple listings - you just need to upload it once....
Integrate directly with the Media API documentation to upload your videos. For detailed instructions on using the Media API to upload videos and adding those videos to your listings, please check our Managing videos documentation
Tip
Adding the same video to multiple listings is easy: you only need to upload the video once and then associate it to different listings.

The last two videos I uploaded : each took about five minutes to be approved. (But I have had some in the past take days, so one never knows for sure) One tip: I find approval goes faster if I give the video file a name, rather than use the numerical file name my phone's camera provides.
If you are doing a general video about your business, you can also upload it to your Store's About page.
I am not an "ebay developer" and have never used the API stuff, so can't give you any more detail other than the links I provided. Someone else here might be able to help if you have specific questions.
And of course, first make sure your video meets the requirements, both technical (size, file type, etc) and otherwise (no nudity, no links to off site sites, etc)
Of course,

Thank you, yes it can be done using the Media API. This sounds like a simple solution and, unfortunately, requires an entire web application to be set up. It can be done through a few of the third party sites and, as I run everything from my own website and database using csv files to communicate with E-bay, that would be a very expensive route to take given that I only need precisely that single facility of uploading a video once.
Tip

A great way to make something sound so easy yet, in reality, it is impossible. E-bay CS says that this cannot be done (unless you are willing to pay a third party).

As I said, I'm not very familiar with the whole API process. I think the one video for multiple listings is aimed at larger retailers who probably already use API (or a they use a third party like Channel Advisor who uses it).
A workaround might be to do a video for your store's About page, and then add a link to that video in your description.

Hello...has anyone asked eBay if we can have an exemption if your feedback rating is over 5000 or any number?

I paid a programmer in Vietnam to hook up the ebay api to my website so I can upload what and when I want.
He just completed it and I haven't tested it yet because of the busy season. I will report back shortly

Hello,
I was wondering if you were able to get that video done.
I am chasing the same problem.
I would appreciate your reply.
Thank you!
