The new listing form is TERRIBLE!

I just listed an item and the new listing form they forced me to use is terrible!  It took me 10 times as long to get the listing done and I have to be able to list fast to make optimal profit.  Has anyone else had to use it today?  You have to manually open each section to edit each section.  The boxes are not open to fill.  It adds several steps in each section.  It's like they "dummy" everything down for a beginner and the rest of us are being penalized.  I am so frustrated.  I am at the point of retiring from Ebay and moving 100% to another selling platform.   They have already lost about 75% of my retail business.

The new listing form is TERRIBLE!

Hello, so sorry to hear of your problem.  I'm a new seller and I have been selling clothing & shoes, so I don't know much, but I'll just share that when I create a new listing from the seller's hub, after putting in the title and category,  all the fields are open on the screen  and I don't have to open each category.  the only section I have to open is the "additional items" section,, which is just above the item description field.  It is the same when I copy a current listing to make a new one in the seller's hub - all the fields are open on the screen except for the "additional items" section.  I don't have to open each and every category with either scenario. I apologize if I misunderstood your problem or if my items are too different from yours for this to be useful to you.

Best of luck finding a solution.

I hear you and feel your pain. The new form is designed for mobile I believe. Yet, many of us use laptops and PCs. The form is a user experience nightmare and would have received a failing grade had it been a high school project.

Its interesting to follow the posts on this new unified listing tool because some of us have been saddled with it for 4 or 5 months now.  I can tell when another batch of sellers gets opted in because the posts start up again with seller frustration.

What is completely ridiculous at this point is that we have been reporting the exact same problems with it for over 2 years while it was is beta testing and more heavily the last 5 months when we lost the option to go back to classic.

Everyone hates the mobile app function of it- everyone- too many clicks and popup menus and edit all boxes etc- just like you mentioned......... Now how can all of us sellers , batch after batch  be wrong?

The vast majority of sellers casual and professional alike- USE COMPUTERS to list with and this tool is a made for mobile nightmare.

Every seller I have talked to says it take 2-3x longer to get a listing done, and that is after they are getting familiar with it. Nobody has reported any improvement over the classic at all.

You are so RIGHT about this dismal listing tool!!!  Apparently, NO one seems to care if we have twice the work.  I couldn't get any photos posted this morning and it's SOOOO frustrating.  Wondering about the drop in sales?  HERE'S your answer!!!  if we can't list, we sure can't sell.  I'm a laptop user and I can't switch to anything else.

Believe it or not this version is better than what they started with 5 months ago...... but any improvements now seemed to have stalled out.  Keep sending feedback!  I think they are still thinking that the more people they force in that they will find enough that like it.... fat chance though because its just too mobile and it is a bad experience on a desktop

Every time a new batch is forced in- we see a ton more post all complaining(giving feedback) about the exact same issues and design flaws!  its universally disliked because it sucks to use on a computer- we do not want a unified bad listing tool- people either list on a computer OR a phone and they do not cross list/ why would you?

Just keep  up the feedback and hopefully they will listen- although ebay is known for its "paralysis by analysis" mentality.  They cant just see the obvious and make the decision to fix it-

the item specifics are where it totally went south.  boxes opening up for each one.  sometimes, you click on the square box next to the specific you typed in, sometimes you click outside the box altogether.   there seems to be no consistent method.  and, who needs the multitude of specifics to choose from?

Type in a UPC and it always comes up 'no match found'.  why are we even typing it in?

in the description area, if  I click 'more options', don't make me answer if I actually want more options.  why did I click it in the first place?

And, where are the pretty colors in the description 'more options' paint can ?   They are all dark.  where is red & yellow & pink?

Let's face it, it is a horribly designed format that makes listing more complicated & annoying.

We should be able to opt out if it is indeed designed for listing on a phone and we use a laptop or desktop.

I agree 100%- the confirmation clicks to see more options in description is just infuriating.  I wonder if its a way to make it load faster?, or just them trying to exert control over sellers.

They have said the lousy color gamut is because it conforms to some contrast challenged standard--- ruin the the use of colors for an infinitely small percentage of actual users....

At least it looks like the upc is kinda working now lol- at least it lets you keep what you typed- before it would say "no match found" and not let you put anything in!

The shipping section improved drastically yesterday so they are starting to listen and improve the tool- hoping for many more improvements soon!!- I have a feeling that they are irritated and begrudgingly returning the design to match the classic- thats what we all want anyway lol-it was optimized to be used on a desktop, where full time listers list.

And, forgot to mention the best offer prices.  of course, another box opens for your auto-accept and auto-decline prices but most times, you have to enter them twice as they revert back to what was there from the listing that you 'sold similar'.

Oh, and, how about the 'year manufactured date' in the item specifics?   the date from your 'sold similar' listing is now some ridiculous date like 1902.

ebay obviously has no quality control or testing anymore.  just lousy coding and go live with it.
