I recently sold a expensive laptop costing 2500$, the buyer asked for ups so I shipped with ups with signature, then he changed it to pick up at a ups store and picked it up 2 days ago.
Today he made a dispute with the reason "The buyer did not recognize the transaction" Ebay is asking for proof of delivery. Am I screwed since the tracking didn't really go towards the sellers address but picked up at a UPS store?
Im very anxious as this is the first time I shipped with ups on ebay and already got a problem.

Did you ship it to the address provided by eBay? or did you change it at the buyer's request? or did the buyer redirect the package?

buyer redirected the package

If the buyer changed the shipping address after the order was placed, thats not allowed, thats been regarded as a potential fraud move on the part of the buyer.
Regardless, there will be a record on ebay somewhere in this transaction of the buyer doing this, so its not you who did it. You need to contact ebay and ask for their fraud department folks. Explain what happened and what the buyer did to changing the address after paying.

Okay but he just request to be picked up at aUPS Store not redirect the shipping address, should I still contact them about it?

What does the UPS tracking show on their website? You sent it with signature confirmation right? Then go to the UPS website and enter the numbers and it will show if buyer picked it up.
When you gave this package to UPS did the label have that buyers address and name on it ( and buyer re routed to a local UPS store?)

It says delivered and picked up but a different name signed on the signature
Yes the label had the address and name, just that he re routed it to the ups store.

There's a chance it was signed for by someone at the store to be "delivered." Then eventually picked up by the buyer.
I'm pretty sure you should be covered by eBay with all this. My guess is the package was redirected because they wouldn't be home to sign for it. The shenanigans after that are questionable though.

I hope so, its the first time I had a dispute and its really scary as I don’t make a ton of money in the first place.

You are covered, @theboobeanies.
Either the tracking shows that it was delivered in the same city and state (tracking never shows the actual address, so eBay has no idea it was picked up at another address) and you are covered.
Or eBay sees that it was requested and redirected to a UPS store, and then delivered, so you are covered.

Thank you for the reassurance, still shaken up about it since Its been hard for me and my daughter.

Well, to be fair. I rarely sell items for more than ~$30. So while a dispute can suck. In the end, I wouldn't normally be out a lot of money if I lost (maybe 50c to $5 for the item and whatever shipping cost). A dispute on $2,500 on the other hand is enough to make your butt pucker.
Someone more knowledgeable in this area can give better advice. Plus this might all be unnecessary. But myself, I would try calling the UPS store and maybe try to gather some info. Find out if the signer was an employee. If they remember or got ID of the person that actually picked it up. Had them sign anything. Stuff like that. But keep in mind, they might may not be able (or allowed) to answer everything you ask. Get anything useful, you can maybe include it in the dispute form.
But as said, a redirect for a signed item is totally legit. Heck, there are tons of legit reasons to have it redirected even if it didn't require signing. Package thieves, didn't want the Mrs. to see, etc. Would you feel comfortable paying $2,000 for something and it be left on your porch for a few hours? Probably not.
The stuff after that? *shrug* In the end, while difficult, try not to sweat it until you actually have to.

You should be fine as long as you provided the delivery proof with signature confirmation. UPS store pickup for UPS delivery is like FedEx office pickup for FedEx delivery. It is convenient option for people not at home to sign an expensive package.
If you want to do some extra effort (which will not help much in this case, but potentially help other sellers in the future), you may consider reporting the buyer to buyer's local police department (they may or may not take the case), and the following websites.
US Postal Inspection (mail fraud): https://www.uspis.gov/report
FBI: https://www.ic3.gov/
FTC: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/

My first concern is this—it sounds like you changed your listing’s shipping method. In general, it is safest to stick with your original shipping choice as outlined in your listing. Why did the buyer request UPS? Did he say?
Next, if a buyer reroutes the package, he loses his eBay buyer protection. So he cannot invoke the Money Back Guarantee thru eBay. But am i correct that he has bypassed eBay and has gone directly to his credit card company?
Your tracking should show the package’s destination was altered by the buyer. That is a strong indication that he was aware of the purchase and therefore recognized the charge. But i am not well-versed on charge-backs, so have included below information regarding eBay's policy on handling such payment disputes, from eBay’s Help pages.
Best of luck to you and hope this gets resolved in your favor.
