The buyer asked me to send the package to another address. Is it okay?

I sold a Sony lens today. The buyer asked me to send the package to another address in Delaware. Is it okay? It is different with label's default address.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Only ship to the address on the invoice,  you ship other than that and what seller protecting you do have will be lost!!!!

NO SELLER PROTECTION IF SENT TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS THAN WHATS ON THE INVOICE

No.  Check to see if the the person asking is really your buyer.  Asking to ship to Deleware is a popular ploy used by the "change of address" scammers.  The ones that message for you to "text them" like that address as well, as well as the ones just pretending to by your buyer.

Never change the address, even for someone that pays.

@qypqyp

Check the ID of your buyer and the ID of the one that sent the message, I bet they don't match.

Never ship to a different address, you'll loose what little seller protection you have.

Have A Great Day.

No cannot change address (could be a scam).    Customer can then claim "did not receive item".    Best way is to cancel this sale and have customer re-purchase using correct address.

Re: The buyer asked me to send the package to another address. Is it okay?

If a buyer asks to ship to a different address AFTER they buy/pay.... the answer from me is NO.

If you don't ship to the address on the buyer's payment, if the buyer claims item not received, even if it shows up as delivered, eBay may find in their case and make you refund.

I have a disclaimer in all of my listings that says I will only ship to the address on their payment and I can not and will not change the shipping address once payment is made.

It's one of the few protections us sellers have left here.  I've had buyers file item not received cases too many times for me to count, when the tracking shows it was in fact delivered.  I've called eBay every time and they have found in my favor every single time, only because they can see I didn't edit the ship to address when I printed my label.

If the address is to a apartment on River Road in New Castle, DE 19720, DO NOT SEND IT THERE. IT IS A SCAM, I LIVE HERE IN NEW CASTLE AND KNOW THAT ADDRESS VERY WELL, THERE IS NONE. IT IS A FAKE ADDRESS BUT DOES HAVE A MAIL BOX ON IT. DO NOT SEND THERE, NO MATTER WHAT

No NO NO and NO

Only ever send to the address supplied to you from eBay

If buyer demands a certain address then cancel and relist then have them purchase again

Re: The buyer asked me to send the package to another address. Is it okay?

If you ship to a different address you lose your seller protection. Explain to buyer how it works. remember they are a buyer not a seller and may not know the rules for a seller. let the buyer know the next time he wants an item ship to a different address, they have to put that address on their payment. At the time of making payment. I sell a lot of auto parts and sometimes the buyer would like the order ship to the shop doing the repair. good luck stay protected

That often happens with high value items.  As stated NO.   The buyer would have to ask you to cancel the sale and then repurchase and put in that address BEFORE they click pay.

I LIVE HERE IN NEW CASTLE ...

@kmc4076

Thanks for that bit of information.  What is the word on the reshipper  at 8 McCullough????  Seems to be a favorite destination address for the 'text me' 'change of address' and 'cheap trinket' scammers.  This and a couple of others are truly giving regular honest reshipper users a bad rep.

I admit that I have done it - but I wouldn’t recommend it, not for an expensive item.  It was a judgment call when I did it - I didn’t think that someone would try to scam me on a $15 45 record.

Re: The buyer asked me to send the package to another address. Is it okay?

When that happens to me i explain to the buyer that i can ONLY ship to the address provided to me by ebay.  if the customer wants it shipped to another address, i cancel the transaction, ask the buyer to change the address, then buy it again with the correct address.
