So is this the new normal on eBay? Nobody is listening. Why Not? It's been a while since I've seen sales below 3K.

 

A buyer who won a $2.75 Auction, couldn't pay for it with PayPal (eBay wouldn't allow it) and contacted me. Who else not able to pay for items and just moves on? Painful. I guess I'll try to finish out the month and if this continues, I'll be closing the store and moving on. What a Shame that things here have deteriorated to this point.

So this is the first time it's happened to you and you are calling it normal?

 

Can be many reasons a buyer "can't" pay, including that they don't "want" to pay...........

Really? This is the latest in a LOOOOOONG List of issues that pop up daily in my account. I've been on the phone with "customer" support more times than a Jerry Lewis Telethon. It's getting worse with every call. I'm arriving at the conclusion that nothing will change and it's time to pack it in.

 

I've been selling on eBay for a long time (9 years). I can't explain why these things keep occurring or why nobody at eBay will do anything to resolve any issue. I can't even get them to call me back. I've never experienced anything like this. It seems deliberate. If it's coincidental I would be amazed. I am by no means a conspiracy theorist. I have run out of reasonable, logical explanations for these anomalies, abnormalities, glitches, errors, etc. all combining to have the net effect of putting me out of business.

Come to find out the buyer could not pay with Paypal on the eBay mobile app. He paid through the eBay desktop site. How many buyers would just give up and look elsewhere?

There could be many reasons why the buyer could not pay, 

 

This seems like a reoccurring and intermittent problem with paypal and ebay, who has acknowledged and apologized for the problem in the past.
On the paypal community boards, this problem has been reported on and off at least since 2011.

Programming glitches and oversights seem to be the norm on ebay.

I stopped buying here in 2019 (after 9 years) and it's 100% due to eBay and the poor processes/technical issues and poor customer support.  Prior to that I was a very frequent buyer for 9 years with > 1000 items purchased.

Perhaps it is one of those "unannounced" changes  that ebay has decided not to burden us with by making an announcement to avoid "confusion and stress".
