So for those of you that don't know eBay put out a coupon code for July 4th which they heavily promoted for once and was actually something awesome they did for once. It's for 20% off! It had a few exclusions (there was a discount limit, but it was pretty high) but otherwise could be used for almost everything.
I contribute my great weekend of sales to this code. Normally July 4th weekend is a slow one because everyone is on vacation and no one is buying.
Well that code (JULYSAVINGS) is still good through today and my advice is for all of you to take advantage today.
Here's what I did:
1. I sent offers with the minimum discount possible to send one to all my watchers on dozens and dozens of key items. In the message box I put the coupon code and said what it was for and basically tried to sell them on the idea if they buy today they can get an extra 20% on top of my offer discount (and, in most cases, my sale price since I'm running a sale too).
2. I messaged buyers who made recent offers but we just couldn't quite reach a deal with the code to see if that with the code they would take the best offer I was able to send them. In addition I messaged buyers who reached out to me recently expressing interest in something I had with the code to see if they'd bite.
I just started an hour ago and have already sold on item doing this. I also have a guy who is considering a shirt that's a few hundred dollars who had messaged me two months ago asking if I could go any lower and we just couldn't quite get a deal done). He said he'd let me know by the end of the day. Similar situation with a pair of shoes a lady messaged me about yesterday asking for a better price but I can't do it because it will take it out of the Authenticity Program.
Anyway, I think it's an idea worth trying if anyone else wants to do it
