Thanks once again ebay for making it so EASY (not) for buyers to actually buy

Have a buyer trying to request a total (from a desktop). She can see the button but when she clicks it she gets this message and she's already tried 3 different browsers.

! We're sorry, but we cannot complete your request right now.

Does ebay NOT want buyers to buy now?

Yes, no, maybe, it is working as intended. Clear cache and cookies, turn it off and on again.

Ok I gave you all the answers eBay normally would. You now owe me 10% of all your sales you make. 😛

Honestly. It's bad enough we can't get them to add Request a Total to the app, but now this on a desktop?

I would suggest to your buyer to do as @gwzcomps suggest.  Sometimes that is all it take.

They could just try it again after they clear their cookies.  If  it still doesn't work, shut down and bring their computer back up.

This function normally works on the desktop.  I am assuming that your buyer is clicking on the Request a total in the Shopping cart.  If they are trying to do something else, you should tell us as there may be something else going on.

If you don't have IPR on these listings.  There is another way.  Your buyer could go ahead and purchase each item but tell them NOT to pay.  Then do the same for the other items.  Still NO PAYMENT.  Then they can request or total or you can see the purchases and send an invoice with the combined shipping discount.  That is what I do with my Mobile App customers that have these issues.

Tried most of that already. I myself have not added IPR to my listings but apparently ebay has. They can't buy without having to "pay now".

Because most of the items are from variation listings I can't even ask the to ASQ on each so I can make an offer which they can accept and not pay.

You'd have to check with Ebay on that one.  I am able to put IPR on listings if I want to and not on the ones I don't want it on.

If you are doing variation listings, you can do volume pricing on those to get the discounts to the buyers when they buy multiple items from the same listing.

I'm not trying to give an item discount, just a simple combined shipping discount

You can do that too on a variation listing.  Just as you can any multi quantity listing.
