Tempted to sell only when the category insertions are free

Those charges can sure build up especially when it seems they're only going after items that are new listings or fairly inexpensive. Maybe do insertion fees when I have a collectible or antique or antiquarian book that I know they can't resist at that price and is very scarce.

OMG, no.  Absolutely not.  IDK where you are getting this idea.  What did you think listing fees are.  It is a fee for new listings and/or GTC that renew each month.

If what you currently have listings is an amount you normally carry, you should just get a Basic store.  Then you will have plenty of free listings.

I'm up to 2500 items for sale. Never thought I get there. I can always go from buy it now to auction...change anything on the item for sale. I like the flexibility to do anything. The more you list the more visible you become. How do you complete with someone with 100,000 items for sale....in my category? I have no problem paying $21.95 every month for freedom to do a lot of eBay.
