Pages aren't loading, or take way too long. They don't time out, they just don't open. Every other website works, just not ebay. I called my ISP yesterday, thinking it might be a routing issue. They went through everything. Checked the firewall, made sure I was using the current version of Firefox, cleared my cache. They did notice when they pinged ebay that ebay's IP address kept changing, which they said is strange. Nothing on their end. I called ebay yesterday and reported the problem and ebay reported it to the Tech department. It's still doing it today. Very frustrating. Anyone else eperiencing this or know what the problem is? I've tried other browsers. IE won't even let me log in. Same with Chrome.

Your internet speed has no bearing on terrible servers, you can have the fastest internet in the world and it wouldn't matter if the website is on a server that is outdated and/or packed with tons of traffic that it wasn't designed to hold.

Not following what you are saying, but I already did the speed test and speed is where it should be.

Run a tracer route and see if what data centers your connection to eBay travels through.

My ISP was checking that site while I was on the phone. Said he didn't find anything. And there were no other calls from other customers reporting similar problem.

Wow, thanks for filling me in, the test is to determine if it is your internet connection or eBay's dead servers.

tracing route to e9428.b.akamaiedge.net over a maximum of 30 hops
then I see 5 rows of numbers and then several number and a few charter.com, more numbers and deploy.static.akamaitechnoliges.com

The replay wasn't directed at you so why are you trying to use sarcasm with me? did I at any time imply you didn't know how servers work?

Yes, you have to study this stuff to understand it, not everyone is a server administrator or a networking expert.

Well, it's hard for me to understand. I'm not a computer guru. I also have difficulty when there's more than one tab open at a time so my computer guy set it for me to only have one tab open. OTOH, I have run speed tests before and my speed is just fine but eBay pages still won't load a lot of the time.

When that happens eBay server you are on has stalled, just close you browser for a minute, then come back, load balancing should take you to a new server.

I tried that. Doesn't always work. I can get to ebay's home page fine everytime with Firefox. It's when I try to go to other pages. Some work better than others.
