I have received a letter from my state saying that I have files that haven't been returned for taxes & I have 15 days to get this done. The problem is that I haven't ever received a letter like this & I've been selling for over 15 years! So, what in the world do I do??? I really need help on this please.

@soh.maryl perhaps I used the wrong wording as it is a sales and use permit per say. As @mam98031 and @monica-sells stated even if you onlyu make sales through marketplaces where sales tax is collected for you or you make NO sales at all that zero report HAS to be filed.
Also, as others have state, OP never comes back to any of their posts so I guess they will continue to have problems.

Perhaps I used the wrong wording. My only goal here was to figure out what that OP was talking about, so we might offer help or advice.
But, since he's refrained from returning and explaining, I guess we'll never know, will we?
Hope he gets it figured out before he's in legal trouble.

It's all completed now. I had so few sales that I don't owe any taxes.

I had to go back to 2023 & list my sales out of the state, what state, & taxes they paid. I had no sales in KS but if I did, I would have had to list the city, then look at a chart to determine what precinct, then that certain tax & list it. It's all done now, thank heavens!

Still curious to know if this involved state sales taxes, state income taxes or Federal income taxes?

Not owing any taxes doesn't mean you don't have to file the reports with your state on time. I don't owe taxes either because the thresholds in my state favor small businesses. But I still have to file my reports and likely you do as well. So make sure you are adhering to your state rules / laws or you may have some nasty surprises later.

No you would not have. Not for sales on this site. Ebay takes care of that. Your state has a way for you to report that Ebay takes care of this.

All I know is it is not federal. The OP is dealing with their State. But you are right, they really haven't given us details to really understand what the issue is.
