You may be better off with an eBay Premier Store -- 10,000 free listings, plus 500 free auction listings, for only $59.99 a month (if you contract for a year).
I found the fees for an eBay Anchor Store to be too outrageously high.
If you're already selling about $140K on eBay already with only a Basic Store, then a Premier Store definitely sounds to me like a sensible jump. However, prepare to do a LOT more work (listing, selling & shipping).

You are in the UK........this is the US board and I don't believe your items show here.......I don't know how the prices of stores compare......Size of the store has never really been shown to improve sales........but IF you increase the number of listings.........I think most agree, your sales will go up............
I would not increase the store until you have listings/inventory to justify it....... ie. list/pay extra until you have met the store rent figure you are willing to pay....... If you jump into a store without the listings...you are just wasting money.

Hello Thanks for your reply and appreciate your time.
Yes I will try out Premier store first as that seems more sensible. Ebay anchor price is ridiculous, seems profit are decreasing every year on ebay due to them increasing fees from every angle.
Do you think ebay ranks listings better depending on what type of store you have?

Nobody knows for sure how ebay ranks listings. There are lots of theories though but few, if any, are provable.

No i don't.
I am a part time seller. I have 200-300 items listed at any given time. I recently got a (starter?) (basic?) store. Fees are down.. Sales are up. Also, i know the store is working when i sell totally different items to the same buyer ... Like pineapple candy, a Flowbee part and a t-shirt.

There are no free listings.
You pay the monthly fee for a subscription, then divide that by the number of listings you actually have up.
So if you were paying $60 for a monthly sub, and had 100 listings, each would cost you 60c. If you had 1000, each would cost you 6c.
Since you are listing on the UK site, the fees will be based on the UK fees.
But, you can list on any site you like, no matter where you are registered.
I'm not sure about the UK site, but I am registered on the Canada site, and I get as many Canadian listings as I do US.
That is, I pay $25Cdn monthly for my Basic subscription and get 350 "free" listings on dotCA for that. But here's the interesting bit, I also get 350 "free" listings on dotCOM. I believe I could have "free" listings on the UK and Australian sites as well. I've never checked out the French or even the Canada/French sites, but if I were more confident in my language skills, I suspect I could increase the number of "free" listing by putting some on those sites.
If you ship to a destination, the members there can see your listings, and the price will be in their local currency when they Search.
In other words, if you are flexible, you can increase the number of your listings, without paying more for your Store subscription than you already do.

I don't know anything about ranked listings; but I DO know that the fewer number of individual items listed, the better chances for your own sales. For example, if more than 10 sellers are attempting to sell the SAME identical item on eBay, the competition is high. However, if fewer than 10 sellers are attempting to sell the SAME item on eBay, your chances of making a sale are getting better.
And, if you describe your items in a particularly attractive, interesting and intriguing manner, buyers may have a tendency to be drawn to YOUR store, rather than that of a competitor, even though your price may be the same (or higher!) than that of a competitor.
The difference is simply to sell WISELY -- put yourself in the buyer's shoes: what about your product might be of singular interest to a buyer? And why should a buyer make a purchase from you, rather than one of your competitors?
Bit anyone who's already making over $140K annually probably doesn't need my advice!
Good luck!
